If you want to be sure that the Bank have no details on record of any PPI on your finance then you could send them a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter. There is an excellent template here;Whst should i do if i can found no evidence of loans ect.

It will cost you £10, but only you can decide whether to spend this money- given that the Bank have already written to say they have no records.
If you do send a SAR, then ensure full details of your name at the time (as well as addresses) are furnished to them.0 -
Hi there,
wonder if you can help. Are banks obliged to hold details of all accounts on SARS reports indefinitely. I've had a ppi claim upheld with Lloydstsb but absolutely sure there was a forerunner this to one but can't find the paperwork!
kind regards

No, they typically keep records for around six years (in line with FSA guidelines).charlie1104 wrote: »Are banks obliged to hold details of all accounts on SARS reports indefinitely.0 -

It's your choice whether to gamble the tenner, but you can still send Lloyds a Subject Access Request (SAR) letter. You may get lucky, especially if you still bank with them.charlie1104 wrote: »ok, thanks for your help.0 -
thanks for the tip, I've banked with them forever so maybe worth a go.
