Sky BB - My Dilemma

Hi guys,

This could be a long story but i will try to cut it short, here goes,

I order Sky BB on 10th October and up until the end of December i had still not received anything even though i was ringing them every week pushing it, after various £10 credits added to my account my router arrived on 28th December, which i quickly installed (even though their CD DIDNT work!). This is where it gets weird, on 3rd Jan (i think) i get a knock on the door and guess what another router had arrived. So i rang up sky (i was ringing them anyway cause i wanted to know my email address) and i was told on the phone that i couldn’t possible have 1 router let alone 2 as I DO NOT HAVE SKY BROADBAND and have never placed an order, after a 25 minute phone call the operator was adamant i didn’t have sky on my billing account so i would not be paying for it.

I then thought this must be a mistake so rang again twice speaking to different people both went through my account and told me all i have is sky world and HD Sub, i defiantly don’t have sky broadband!!

So here’s the question:

my broadband works fine, if i don’t keep ringing them is there anyway they can tell i have it?

what do i do with the second router are they worth anything?

Any ideas welcome!!!

If it were me I'd probably email them (broadbandcustomerservice@bskyb.com)to remind them you have the router, it will then be up to Sky to ask for it back. Then just keep it as a spare.
It wouldn't be much use to anyone unless they have Sky broadband as it contains Sky specific firmware. I think the netgear router its based on sells for around £40.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
