Orange FilmToGo Offer: charges are more than 35p !!

Hi,

All Orange customers you may be aware of the weekly offer where you text 85060 and can then claim film to download on itunes. Orange have advertised this as only costing 35p.

However you are also charged another 10p on top for sending the text. (I am on a SIM only monthly tariff).

As far as I can tell this is for all Orange customers and this has not been stated in any of the terms and conditions I have read on their website.

I have sent a 2nd email to Orange about this, to me this seems wrong and are misleading customers in their advertisements.

    I am also on the staff friends and family discount scheme. Coincidence? Would be interested in what others have been charged.

    Just checked my bill. I have been charged an extra 10p too!! I can't feed my family this month now.

    Surely the text out is charged at standard network rates? Nowhere is it stated the request text is FoC. The activation code in reply is 35p. I use the FREE App, and no charge is made as it doesn't use SMS.

    I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

    Have to say i'm with the OP on this issue, it is scandelous, no where in my t&c's does it mention payment for the depreciation of my phone for pressing the keys 5 times to send the text, not to mention the cost of electricity to recharge my phone after the text is sent.
    Who is my MP? i need to tell someone about this lack of care by Orange. Oooooo Oarange you make me so angry.

    Well Orange have coughed up! 10p refunded, got notified by text. All other Orange customers will get a refund as well, my sister also got a text confirming the same.
