Which ISP sets broadband up the fastest?

I'm moving house but need internet connection to be sorted out very quickly (I work from home).
I was looking at Tesco but they told me it will take 17 days to set up! I can't wait that long.
Does anyone know any providers who set it up really quickly?

Unless you live in Hull, or can get Virgin cable, then BT Openreach set up your broadband, irrespective of which ISP you use. So lead times will all be similar. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

3 weeks is very much the norm, as penrhyn says, there is no way of jumping the queue for a residential line install, assuming this is what you require (since you don't actually say what is available at the new address already-is there an existing line that requires re-activating, an existing line on which you require a broadband provision, etc).
If a business-level service is required then that is what you should be using, not a residential service .No free lunch, and no free laptop

Try a mobile povider. With a Dongle or MiFi, it is instant. You can then use up what you;ve bought until the fixed provider gets their act together.0

Curiously, I read a similar thread recently in which the OP was told that there is indeed such a thing as "expedited install". If you can't get cable and have to have phone lines, allegedly, some ISPs can arrange for an "expedited install" in exchange for c. £100 or similar. So it may be worth trying.
If you do get any joy please do come back and update this thread, as I didn't think that such a process was possible and I among others would no doubt be interested to know whether it is indeed available or not.0 -
Does ordering a business line result in a higher priority being given by Openreach? No free lunch, and no free laptop

No, I don't think so - however the thing called "expedited install" (presumably only on a business line) might be the answer to getting it done faster. But I read two opinions - one of those who believe it exists and one of those who say it doesn't. Which makes giving advice a little tricky

I switched from F2S to PlusNet, they said it would take 10 days, it took 5.
Very pleased, they're a good company, PlusNet that is, not F2S, who were a joke.0 -

Indeed it does exist it's on AAISP site at £156.00
.Expedite£156† Expedite of broadband order (faster install)

This is on top of any other charges for BB activation, new line install, etc and typically is 2-5 days.0 -
O2 took six days from ordering over the phone to full service.0
