Cabernet Sauvingnon, white label edged in dark red.
the desserts should be easy to find as they sell so few,I only buy them for the granchildren as we don't have a sweet tooth.

I like Aldi - love their cooked meats, sweets, cereal, yoghurts, soups etc. One thing that annoys me is the queues at the checkouts. As I only buy about 4-8 items, some kind customer lets me go in front of them. They always comment about me being in there, not Sainsburys - I say 'likewise'. If there is one shop that needs self scan, its Aldi.

    Definitely..?

Thanks for correcting me...I was laughing too much at the time.:D

;) Felines are my favourite ;)
  • We have been shopping at Aldi for a few years now and on the items I buy I can honestly say there has been no price increase.

It just goes to show how the major supermarket cartel play us all (in my opinion of course).

I started shopping in Aldi by doing just little bits. Now i do most of my shopping in there. It's saved us a fortune. There fruit and veg is great in our Aldi and my DH is happy cause i can get a bag of granny smiths apples from there for 99p, he's favourite all time apple. I stopped buying them at Asda, i'm not paying £1.50 odd for 5 apples.

I don't understand if they can sell a lettuce for 49p why can't Asda, Tesco or Morrisons. Everything is a £1 in Asda. Which they seem to think is a bargain. Not in my house it isn't.
  • Can anyone tell me what the price of Kingsmill wholemeal sliced bread costs at Aldi? They don't list everything on their website and it's a fair walk to my nearest Aldi, so wanted to check before I venture there. Thanks!
  • They have a gorgeous rose sparkling wine for 3.99, similar one I get in Tesco is 6.99, I buy their Irish Cream drink for special occasions it's around £4 and I think it's nicer than Baileys original.

The only thing I would say is that they are GREAT for weekly shopping but they rarely have everything I want, so I usually save a fortune in Aldi then pop to Tesco and get my other bits and bobs.

I don't buy any branded goods in Aldi, they are usually a bit more expensive for branded goods than Tesco or one of the larger stores. Spices for cooking are about 1/4 of the price in Aldi than other shops, I can't remember exactly how much but I know I bought about 10 jars of spices last time I was there because they were so cheap!

I love Aldi too. I do my weekly shop in there and if I can't get all the bits I want I nip to Morrisons for the rest. Lovely fresh meat, cooked meats are great, the frozen pizzas are lovely, chocolate mousses are delicious, pull up nappies are great. The ginger bubble bath is really nice, I could go on and on and on....:rotfl:
