'slow' buyer from buyers point of view

I know we sometimes get impatient sellers on here and I thought it worth posting (with permission) how it looks from the buyers point of view.
I got an email overnight from a friend who left a snipe bid in on an item ending just before midnight on Thursday. Worked all day yesterday and went out straight after work with friends and got home late, logged in to pay (about 23 hours after winning) to find an invoice and a curt email from the seller basically suggetsing she was a time waster and shouldn't be allowed on ebay if she couldn't work out how to pay immediately.
She paid and responded saying that she was well within the time frame allowed by ebay and perhaps he needed to chill out a bit (she admits she had had a drink or two). Got a reply back last night saying that ebay can say what they like, it's his item and as she was so late paying and he can only post on a Saturday she would now just have to wait until next Saturday as he certainly wasn't going to sit up half the night to wrap something that the buyer obviously didn't want.
My friend sent one final email last night before logging off basically saying that she wouldn't expect her item much before Thursday and would obviously contact him then if it hadn't arrived as that would fit with the time frame suggested by ebay of postage within 1 working day using 1st class mail.

TBH that seller is takin the p1ss. A few days and maybe yeah, but not even a day. Leaves himself/herself wide open to SNAD, INR (not saying your friend would but others will)0

Thank you, Soo --- always good to see the other POV represented."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

So he can not only be darn rude but can stay up long enough to email your friend back but not package the item to post today.
I guess it's something incredible that would take a few hours of wrapping, like an elephant or something.
Hopefully a seller who won't be on ebay for much longer.0 -
Actually it was something that could go into a plastic mailer - it wasn't breakable worth less than £30 with postage
The latest edition of the saga is that the money was refunded last night with another curt message that ebay had told him he did not have to sell to any buyer who he didn;t want to especially if he thought they were 'fake' (?) and had told him it was OK for him to cancel the auction. There was also a request for a mutual cancellation which my friend has declined , she has also left negative feedback.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My friend is out now so there will be no more updates for a while..but I can't imagine he will be pleased with her refusing the mutual.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Should imagine he'll be less pleased with the neg. Ok hes got fvf of about £3 which he can swallow but that big red mark will be there for all to see.0

I can't believe how unreasonable the seller was! Unless the description specifies immediate payment, under a day is easily within the time frame allowed by ebay. And hiding behind the ebay rules that protect sellers from fake buyers to resolve a minor disagreement is misusing them. He should just have kept up his end of the deal once she had paid, rather than delaying then cancelling delivery. It's a shame he wasn't more reasonable to resolve this before it got to negative feedback. Selling on ebay is like a business, which relies on your reputation for good customer service.0

Bonkers! I buy quite a lot on ebay to sell on and don't always pay at once - quite often wait til I have a few together to pay for. I would be extremely annoyed if a seller did that to me.
too many comps..not enough time!0
