My cousin got it free. She just rung up her phone provider (i think she was on t-mobile at the time) and explained it was because it would be handy as she has business and wanted a clearer number and got a number just like you are after so ring your provider.. it may be free.0

i'm with orange & they've told me it will cost £10 to get another number, and that will be just a randon one, or £50 - £300 for a special one!
I want to use my old PAYG num, but keep the PAYG account open (Got loads'v free txs, evening calls etc) but it has to close if they take the number!!
had a fab Easymobile number but rang today & they've all been given back to T-mobile!!!I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!:mad:0 -

A more direct approach would be to try to buy a SIM card in a shop. Last time a bought one abroad, without asking, the counter staff dumped a whole pile of SIM packs on the counter and told me to pick the number I wanted. You could try asking in a mobile phone shop here, if they’ll let you go through all the SIM packs they’ve got.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0 -
Also try getting some sims of ebay.
Although they are free from O2 i sold a number ending 88 89 90 for £5.
Look for buy it now ones that are newly listed or cheap ones ending soon. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -

Once you change number you lose control of it,and if you port a number the account is closed, and you lose the credit etc .
You cant change the number for the original account and keep the original account open ,and then port the old number as far as i am aware.0 -

Try ringing again and speaking to a different customer services person. Last time I needed a new number I had to pay the £10 for a 'standard' number but was given a list to pick from. Although the really good ones presumably go into special 'gold', 'silver' etc categories, the 'standard' ones still included things like 079x9090999..0 -
I Bought Mine from www.EazyNumbers.co.uk and they supplied it on a payg sim of my choice and it was only £55 all in0

I seriously recommend ebay.....
I bought two T-Mobile sims 07939 aaa700 and aaa800 for £20. (aaa is the same 3 numbers!!)
Having two essentially consecutive numbers makes things a lot easier for me running my small business, Sales on one and Support on the other.
The best thing with ebay is you can see the numbers (more or less) straight away and don't need to faff around.0 -
keep getting free sims, especially from o2 i got numbers in sequence, me and OH have matching numbers and they're easy e.g.
07 p mm hhh u hh
then mine has the next digit on the end, have another one in the sequence but nothing to use it for yet.Yes Your Dukeiness0
