  • Every day I look on the CNET website for any new goodies - I trust them for bug free downloads. Some time ago they had an Easeus product so I downloaded it and then looked in the 'Help' section and the English wasn't good - as described by fwor above. Apart from that the software worked and I had no problems. Although I've downloaded it now, I will move it and install it on an old computer and see what happens.

Just to be clear - I was not commenting about the standard of english used by EaseUS in their products.

I was commenting about the standard and status of the web site that is/was hosting this supposedly legitimate download.

For example I'm not sure what to make of their Disclaimer page:
Neither Xxxx nor the authors have, in any case, any relation to any illegal activity. We talk about, but not limited to, software available Free/Freeware, Shareware Promotions, Tips and Tricks, Technology etc.

All the provided links are legal and related to genuine software. These links are published on Internet by rightful owners or the entity who has been authorized by rightful owners.
Rightful owner or the entity who has been authorized by rightful owners may ask to remove published links on Xxxx. They must prove the authority, identity along with the proof the at least Google.com is not indexing such links. In such case, we apologies in advance and we will remove link as soon as possible.

Owner and authors at Xxxx can not be held liable in any case for any danger and/or inconvenience and/or damages. Use information, provided at Xxxx, at your own risks.
CNET I would consider to be a fairly safe source. The above I would not.
  • I moved the exe file to a memory stick, scanned the stick with Kaspersky 2012 - no threats found. Loaded the exe file onto a spare computer with Windows 7. Scanned the file with Malwarebytes - no threats found. Installed the programme onto the computer and then scanned the computer with Avast - no threats found. All appears to be okay.
