What do you and your DP's/DH's/DW's do together that costs nothing...

... Or next to nothing (ie money spent on transport). And I mean other than in the bedroom ;)

Me and DP have very little spare money between us to go out and do things but we go out for little walks, take my dads SLR camera which he has kindly given to us till xmas and have photography competitions, who can take the best shot of the day.

We go to car shows or drive over to the seaside which costs about £10 in fuel there and back.

DP isn't the type to sit in and watch TV or movies and certainly isnt entertained by board games or computer games.

I am just curious more than anything what other people do.

We do watch a lot of films, mainly old classic movies, listen to music together, and with our daughter we also play a lot of board games. :)
We also walk together, we're lucky to live in a beautiful area with lots of free scenery :) so we will take the dog and head out for a walk weather permitting.
Mostly though, we just spend time together. We are happy in each others company, even if we're doing different things.

We have dogs & live near a large lake. It's stunning scenery so we daily go for walks around the lake or where we live. Associated with this is feeding the ducks which wee man loves.

Wee man & I go to the library once again for a song & rhyme time or just to get some books out. He gets a sticker every time he goes to the library; when he collects four he gets a certificate.

Wee man & I tend to go to my parents a lot as they don't live far away. They love it & so does he and they completely dote on him. Free activity!

Mum & I joined Dobbies so got two vouchers a month each for free tea/coffee so we do that.

Not free but we tend to go out for lunch a bit. Ikea usually! Breakfast before 11am for 99p or lunch for wee man for £1.25 I think. I don't think that's bad really.

We're always looking for things to do. Got that free heritage weekend coming up so we'll have a look at a few things for that. Would like to go to Bletchley Park but not sure if it's on the list of free things this time.

Haven't got my day brain on quite yet so can't think of loads but might reply again later!

We live in London so are really lucky that everything is pretty much on our doorstep. We have travelcards for our jobs so going out and about doesn't cost us anything extra than our monthly commute costs. There are loads of free galleries and museums. We often go for a walk along the river. Covent Garden is fab to stroll round and just take in all the street entertainers. Beautiful parks which are great for bike rides. Loads of opportunities for window shopping when we are brassic, or actual shopping when we are flush. The only thing we dont have nearby is the seaside, but we have friends along the south coast and house swop with them 3-4 times a year. Saves all of us a fortune for a change of scene.

Geocaching, costs a little bit to set up, but once you have your kit, lots of interesting walks for free.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

Most of the big museums and art galleries are free these days. You could also join the National Trust - it's around £80 a year for couples, but then you can get into all the properties for free after that.

I'm sure that there's sometimes offers with joining the National Trust. Is it Tesco vouchers or something?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Gardening, diy stuff, walks (with the dogs), massages most weekends, cooking. Our house and pets require a lot of upkeep, yesterday he cut the grass and I collected the clippings and we had a giggle while doing that. We only have weekends together, so the time is precious, both for the ''normal stuff like just being together, holding hands'' and chores etc. We try and do a big job in the house or garden at least every month, and maintaining, and a date every month, and still leave time for ''quiet snuggling time''.

Depending on the area you live in and which has more accessible attractions for you there's also English Heritage to consider.

Both have people at the sites trying to sell memberships to visitors and often really good deals are available if you actually go and sign up there...recently I was offered 18 months for the price of 12 plus a refund on parking fees for that day (which was £6).

Definitely check out what offers are floating around!

Topcashback do a very good cashback rate on National Trust ;)

Depending where you are be it English Heritage/Historic Scotland or National Trust or National Trust for Scotland they all have free sites. Ok they won't be the fully standing historical sites as it were but some of the free sites are still worth exploring...;)

Mr Spirit is away a lot so we do not do lots of going out when he is home. Dog walking, eating together, chatting, planning things.

We potter about mostly. Shopping in the village shops, seeing friends and neighbours, some TV watching, read the newspapers together, talking with our daughter, plotting future holidays.

Today we had to shop for an outfit for a wedding for me. Very successful trip and there was lots for me to buy (short and plump and spoil the look of lots of stuff so I really hate shopping). We had a very happy half an hour as I tried on hats in John Lewis. Looked silly in all of them and Mr Spirit was wreathed in smiles....we are both very happy tonight as it feels like we had a fun day. I boughta lovely salt scrub, and Mr Spirit will be in charge of massaging me with it before I have to bathe it all off.

It is all the small things that make us happy. We do go to the theatre, opera, eat out but those are not the things that make us tick every day.
