Last year anyone on Tax credits got a NHS exemption certificate for prescriptions, etc
not now
Now you have to claim off a different office
so thats TWO costs
plus having certain conditions gets you free prescriptions and thats ANOTHER office
so 1, becomes three..... treble the costs with all the forms and offices/staff to do the job
of course move to wales or scotland and you wont have to claim...

what cost is there in filling in a form? some people just arent happy with something for nothing...Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
I just recieved an exemption card and didn't have to fill in a form.0

If you meet the criteria for a Tax Credits NHS Exemption Certificate, it is automatically sent out to you - you do not need to apply for it.
The criteria are as follows:
You will qualify if the household income shown on your award notice is £15,276 a year or less and you are getting:• Working Tax Credit only, including a disability or severe disability element.
• Child Tax Credit with or without Working Tax Credit, or

They stopped automatically sending the cards out last year, they now have a form supplied by a different department
the costs i stated as extras were not mine, ill fill out forms all day, but they have to be processed by staff in offices somewhere.....0 -

theres something seriously wrong when people think that the benefit agencies should be chasing people to offer then things rather than people thinking they might have an entitlement and putting in a claim!0
