That's usually what happens when you regularly tip.Solstice_Twilight wrote: »..., and he tends to remember us and really looks after us.0 -
We paid around £150 to the AA for 6 years before I woke up and sorted cheaper rescue cover out. In that time I needed to be towed just once.
So no, I do not tip. I payed (way over the odds) for a service, I received that service. The AA man got paid his wages.
If, perhaps, an AA man had helped me out of the goodness of his heart despite not being a member, then I might be inclined to offer him a drink for his troubles, but being as what they actually do is sign you up to a years cover, then crank up the price, the problem has never arisen.0 -
My clutch pedal stuck to the floor as i was about to hook the caravan up for a 2 week touring holiday, The
RAC guy did his best to get us going but failed.
I gave him £20 for his efforts. Not money saving but he deserved it. And knowing what he tried i managed to fix it
myself that night and go the next day.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I broke down in May, and was towed 300 miles by two different AA men. I didn't tip them, but I called the AA when I got home, and told them how fantastic they had both been.
Although, driver number 2 gave my kids £5 each spending money for their holidays, as, apparantly, they were the nicest, most polite children he had ever had in his truck!0 -

Thank you for the replies, seems about a 50/50 split :-)
I was kinda thinking as I pay for my membership every year, why tip, but later I got to thinking he'd spent about an hour working on my car and maybe I should have. Oh well.... Just noticed on the paperwork a web address so will send an email saying what a fantastic job he did x0 -
