nokia phones on 02 PAYG message received beep when balance pops up

A few of my friends nokia phones have a very annoying quirk

after sending a message or ending a phone call the phone balance pops up which for me, even on nokia phones, has never been a problem.

but with my gf's new nokia slide phone and her mums 6070 it causes the message received noise to occur which is really annoying.

Anyone know how to disable this without losing the normal message tone???

this has been annoying me since I bought my new Nokia 6111 - I never got the message received sound on my old nokia when the balance is shown but on my new one it is driving me nuts , perhaps I shouldnt have such an annoying tone for my message alerts!!:rotfl: .

Have tried to turn it off but no joy... only thing I can find is if you turn off your message alert - but then you dont know when you have a new (text) message arriving...........

Dont know how or if you can turn off the balance popping up every time you have used your phone - this would be okay if I could as I can find out my balance other ways

Would hope someone has the answer

I have this annoying problem too. I phoned customer services 2 days ago and the lady said she had turned it off...but doesn't seem to have worked. Another call to O2 I guess....
