Regardless, the other posters were unhelpful, and just annoying. Which seems to be the trend on this forum. Lot's of threads made about posters being rude to newer users.

All I did was suggest in the future he can get insurance on a phone. It's up to him to take my advice or not. Just a general tip..

Miss K sums it up correctly. Read my post #11 again that is - in my opinion of course ! - pretty analytically accurate.

Just a reminder of what the OP asked
"My mother in law has been told to go and buy a new phone. Is this correct. Can companies do this? Should they not replace the handset or cancel the contract."

The first few replies actually addressed the questions, albeit bluntly as Miss K says.

But you were very supportive and made OP feel better, despite being rude about other posters whose advice was far more accurate than yours " it seems because you're new and ask a question, they feel they can post useless crap about it. "

As you wrote in the quote , your reply did not address the questions put. It was for a potential future solution and not a cost-effective answer for a cheap mobile in any case.

So, in all honesty, whose posts were "useless crap" - yours or the other few that preceded it?
