Not sure which was most appropriate board so hope this one was right!
I have interviewed someone to be a cleaner in my home. Is it possible for us to have a CRB check done? If so how? Does she apply or me & how much does it cost?
Thanks

It would be cheaper to take up references from her previous employers.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

If you employ through an agency they will (or should!) have liability insurance to cover thefts/damage etc. Whether you hire direct or via an agency your best bet is to check that the person you are having into your home has proper insurance.
CRB checks are more about people who will be working with children or vulnerable adults and there are strict rules about when it is appropriate to do a CRB check.

But it's so nice to leave a messy house in the morning and come home from a hectic day at work to one that sparkles!
My cleaner even hung my washing out for me today which means I can sleep in tomorrow and not worry about itCommon sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

I think I'd feel really awful leaving my mess for someone else to clean up :rotfl:0 -

lol I know what you mean, I do always tidy up before she comes so she's not picking up dirty socks off the floor or washing my dirty dishes but I don't mind paying for her to do bathrooms, wash windows or mop floors!
She doesn't usually do my laundry but I think the load I put in before work must have finished while she was here so she put it out for meCommon sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

I used to feel like that too, even though I hated housework with a passion. Then I discovered something amazing. Quality time, and the fact that some people actually like housework! Perfect solution. I have the money to pay, and my cleaner, who really is OCD, is utterly delighted to have another house to clean!!!0
