homechoice?

Hi all, I recently moved to a flat and I need to get cable and broadband (no minidish allowed by the landlord!) I asked around and checked uswitch and the only one I can get is homechoice (E9).

Not being a heavy download user I thought in the big pack (i love my telly) with 2 MB broadband. The package is £ 27.99 (£ 14.99 first 2 months)

Does anyone has a good/bad experience?

I still can go with a cheap broadband and freeview, but this sound reasonable.

Feedback please!!

Thanks!

My set top box broke down and Tiscali (which bought Homechoice) took 7 days to replace it! They couldn't give me a replacement internet service even though they offer the pay-as-you-go one. So one week with neither broadband nor tv, courtesy of Tiscali/Homechoice.
  • i've been with homechoice (now tiscali) for a few years now and i think it's brilliant. the installation process was plain sailing. the technical support is competent and even the basic tv package gives you tons to watch. i would suggest you start with a basic package - you have the option to upgrade at any time if you want more but with the replay option and the free on-demand channels you won't be short of something to watch!
  • i've been with homechoice for just over a year. they've been excellent (never had to call customer services).

it's a shame that they've been taken over by tiscali.

i pay 14quid/month for the basic tv & 2mb package. there doesn't seem to be any limits on the amout of data you can download. i believe the 8mb package is 17.99 although the final speed you get will depend on a variety of factors (and also if you're watching tv).

tv is pretty good as well, with video on demand and also a replay facility on the bbc channels which allow (some) of the previous weeks tv to be viewed.

    ymmv.
