Hi Guys,
After much deliberation i have decided on a brand name and a website name for my new small business. I was going to use tso host to purchase the name and hosting after a recommendation, does anyone have any opinion or experience
Does anyone know what the next steps would be to getting my blog online? once ive purchased the domain name? I have registered twitter and facebook accounts in the name of it too.
Sorry if this sounds garbled im not very technically minded
All help appreciated

I strongly recommend, and all of the best business forums recommend, Wordpress to get your site online. It's easy, you can manipulate and edit yourself, it's cheap (or free) and can look, with a bit of effort, really, really professional.
Hosting wise, there are loads of companies. Never heard of the one you mention and can't find it when I google it. I hope it's not a typo and is that one that comes up when you type in TSo. If so, I would probably steer clear and go with a reputable company.
You'll get loadsa people on here saying go for this or go for that one. The arguments have been done to death and many are out to promote their own firms. Personal preference for me is to go with a big company and I use a large American co. It's cheaper, chances are its much more reliable, tons of freedom and tools and you've got a real entity to chase if something goes wrong. All these resellers and bedroom hosters can just disappear at any time. Why not just go with an establsihed host.0 -
Wordpress all the way for me too - my sites look like websites and that is how they have been created. I can manipulate my sites as I choose and constantly update them. What is good about a Wordpress Site is that you can add an SEO package and each time you write a blog you can sort out your own SEO, my web geek taught me how to do SEO and now several pages of my blog are on the first page of Google.
At the moment you do not have a brand - people get mixed up by thinking that their company name is a brand, it isnt a brand until you have built up a solid reputation and this can take years. Thank back to The Apprentice with the buffoon calling himself Stuart Baggs The Brand - he was soon brought back down to earth with a massive bump.0 -
I would agree - WordPress is excellent and so easy to use! Thanks to everybody in the crafting threads who inspired me to start my own business!!0

WordPress ftw. If you need something a bit more complex, then Joomla.0

Jumping on the band wagon here... I say Wordpress too. It's quick, easy to run and everything is so well organised. It's free too for the basics and even then any upgrades won't break the bank.£8/£96 for ToughMudder fee.0

I use blogger for my blog and doteasy for my web page. Both are free and I've never had a single problem with either of them.0

wordpress question - if you use the wordpress.com blogging with the free wordpress website...eg mynamehere.wordpress.com - how is this different to if you ''downloaded'' wordpress (from wordpress.org) as a program to manage your own website.. eg mynamehere.com ? apologies if it is stupid question, i am not techie!0
