  • My Libre ereader arrived yesterday. It is much smaller than my sony PRS505 (which is suffering from screen burn-in!) and at first I didn't think it was any use with such a small screen however having played around with it I rather like the smaller size and lighter weight. The 100 booksdo come loaded on it but I had a load ready for it on a SD card which is accepts fine. It also links up to the PC quickly. There has been some comment about it taking time to load a book. This is true but once loaded it turns pages more quickly than my sony ereader and I do like the portrait or landscape option. Worth grabbing if it comes up again at this price. Thanks for spotting such a good deal.

Mine arrives last week, unfortunately it was not "New and sealed". It was in an opened and tatty box, with a "Demo" type, label on it, and the unit itself was scratched on the back case and looked like it had some sort of sticky sticker residue stuck to it.
As it's for a Christmas present, it was no good. I did test it, and while it did take a while to load one of the preloaded books, looked pretty good, and I have a Kindle.
I contacted PCWorld straight away and was told my options, £5 off or return for a replacement or refund.
When I contacted them again, they said that they no longer had any and to return it for a refund. I pointed out that they still had many advertised (at the normal price) and they then replied that they had one reserved for me?
I've arranged collection for tomorrow and hope they honour their "reservation"

I haven't had mine yet! But I am blaming the courier as I live in a newbuild and despite listing "extras" on the address and my phone number, no-one can be bothered to ring or read a map (as its not on Sat-Nav yet).

Heres hoping its worth it when it arrives.

Don't forget the free application, Calibre e book management, which can convert most formats of ebook to almost any other format.
