The outlet has 2 listed - the same title at almost £50. Is there a difference then??0

Think I'll get one anyway. Checked the reviews and seem AOK. My 9yo "really" wants a Kindle but I am not paying £100 for a toy, at least this way its a good entry level one for her!
Thanks OP.0 -
I saw both these listing too, kept scurrying between the two to check for differences and couldn't find one. Both are brand new, both have the warranty. Thought maybe one was white, therefore dearer, but both seem to be the black version. Needless to say i just bought the cheaper one!

Not sure why its called Real World when its Aluratek Libre, but not to worry. Looks to be a very good buy.0 -
I have just ordered one of these. It seems to be an absolute bargain at £29.97.
If it is the same as the one in the article on itproportal it was originally £80 at PC world and came with 100 free ebooks.
Perhaps old stock that is being sold off?
Will update once it arrives. -
"£80 REAL WORLD Libre eBook Reader Pro - Black
I have been musing and writing about technology since 1999 back in my native country Mauritius, dreaming back in 1997 of a world full of avatars...
23 October, 2010
Aluratek's Libre eBook Reader Pro is a state-of-the-art digital book reader that is compatible with both PCs and Macs.
The Libre eBook Reader Pro's screen feels and looks like paper. This glare-free display is ideal to reduce the strain on your eyes. The font type and size can be adjusted for your comfort, and you can use the screen horizontally if that suits you better.
Thanks to an SD card slot, the Libre can benefit from a memory size of up to 32GB. That's plenty of space for you to store ebooks and music. For the Libre eBook Reader Pro has a built-in mp3 player: you can play a background music of your choice to make your reading sessions more captivating.
The Libre's battery allows up to 24 hours of continual use, making it a great partner for long journeys or holidays.
Coming in classic black and with 100 free ebooks to get you started, the Libre eBook Reader Pro is what you need to have all the joy of reading without the clutter of books.
Grab the REAL WORLD Libre eBook Reader from PC World for a mere £80."0 -
Thanks for this. It looks really like my husband's 'hanvon' which is an obscure ( in this country) chinese brand. Am a bit concerned about the epaper rather than e ink though ..mainly as I just bought three for Christmas presents!0

The ereader arrived today and it is the "Aluratek Libre eBook Reader PRO".
Brand new in box (1 year warranty) with WHSMITH logos and including 100 ebooks.
Included in the box is -
- ebook Reader PRO
- USB cable
- Power charger
- Hand strap
- Earphones
- Carrying pouch
- Quick Start Guide
There is NO memory card included, however the unit does have an SD card slot that supports up to 32gb. I am not certain how big the internal memory is, as this is indicated no where on the box or in the manual, but after a bit of digging online I think there is 117mb of 'free internal memory'.
The only thing to buy is a couple of SD cards, which are cheap enough.
Absolute bargain at £29.97 inc delivery.0 -
does anybody have a link for this please as can't find it
t, xThe £1,000 emergency fund challenge #163 - £536.16/£10000 -
There are none on offer now at that price. The best is £50ish.
