I've just phoned Tax Credits to check if I had told them that my 16 year old was staying on in education, memories going a bit:). They said I told them at the beginning of june but that mondays payment would still be a few days late but not to worry it would be there eventually. Apparently it doesn't make any difference how far in advance you tell them this will still happen.

yeah did mine back in April...

just glad the bank were nice and cancelled the direct debits i had going out and stopped the bank charges, tax credits weren't interested in the chaos this has caused parents

When my daughter was 16 and staying on in education 3 years ago, the tax credits didn't stop completely, as I had two other children.

However, the payments in respect of my daughter did stop for two payments, before they were readjusted and the payments for my daughter continued.

Now in the same situation with my middle child, so waiting with bated breath to see what happens with my tax credits due in my account tomorrow.

Quick update. As expected, my WTC and CTC for my youngest son have gone in, but no CTC for my 16 year old.

I advised them he was staying in education back in May, so I am sure the payments will be reinstated shortly.

Think a quick (!) phone call to tax credits is in order, just to check the change has now been applied to the computer and updated .....
