Problem porting my number between a network (vodafone)

Im currently terminating my contract with vodafone because they cant beat a deal that I can get as a new customer with Vodafone through quidco...

So i phoned and cancelled and they gave me my pak code but said that it wont work if im going from one contract to another within the SAME network.

Pak codes are only for transferring to ANOTHER network.
Is this correct?

Is there any way round this as the quidco offer is very good,... and i want it but with my old number.

thanks

Firstly, it is a PAC, not a "pak code".
Secondly, they are right, the Porting Authorisation Code is used for porting numbers between networks.

Some networks allow transferring the number internally, but not Vodafone.

The way around is to port the number to another network PAYG sim, than back to Voda. You can get a free sim, but you'll be likely to have to top it up.

You need to "PAC" out to a different network (PAYG) and then PAC out from them back to Vodafone.

Incidentally, if you have been given your PAC code you have NOT cancelled the contract till you use it. If you don't the contract rolls on, so be careful.
