Went to Staines today, got the breadmaker, headphones, water gun, slow cooker, iron, steamer, playdoh (thanks for MSE'r :-) thanks for everyone here for their help!!! that's Christmas sorted!!!

I got a few bits from there today. If it was you, you were very helpful suggesting bits to get. Also the SA's were scanning items and telling everyone the price.... thats customer service.

Electricals area did admit to taking most of the stock tho :(

The Gods are conspiring against me this weekend, hubby out tonight so couldn't go to tesco and i have a driving lesson tomorrow morning at 10 so won't get to tesco until 11.30 at the earliest. I did suggest cancelling my lesson but hubby wasn't amused - I have been taking lessons for over a year!!

Got a few more mega blocks at £1 and a nice cheap hoover.
Also found some clear pyrex dishes. Set of 3 for £2, down from £22 :T

I managed a set of Thomas ones this evening for £3 - what were the £1 bloks?

Did my good deed tho when I saw a couple grabbing the last 2 Thomas's. She asked if I was a HUKD and had been all over the place. I was proud to say No, I am Martin's Friend :) - it totally lost her lol.

My good deed being I mentioned the Barbie Car.... saw her 10 mins later @ Customer Services lol.

I share your scepticism. IMO what the staff are doing amounts to theft/obtaining goods by deception http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deception_%28criminal_law%29 (withholding items from sale waiting for the price to go down for their benefit) and they should be sacked and reported to the Police. It is theft really as the company they're paid to make money for loses out - while they probably slap em all on ebay as a side earner and I doubt they pay any income tax on it. Add on tax evasion to the list of charges.

If I worked in one of these departments, I'd never do it, and in fact I would complain furiously about staff members I know are doing it. That or I'd just try find their secret stashes and sell them to members of the public :D and hope to watch the staff member's face as they see their precious item leave the store.

no as price is already reduced, they are not waiting for a reduction.
  • Today, I picked up:

    Braun Cruzer 4 for £7.15
    Babyliss I-Trim Stubble for £2.50
    Phillips body trimmer for £3.50
    rug for £9.50
    solar lights for £3
2 single electric blankets for £2 each
:money:I'm not a friend of Martin's, I AM Martin. Just not THAT Martin. :money:

Hey Czerniacha, I think I got the last one (ex-display around 4ish) :o. However I have obtained a boxed one from my local this evening so might have a sparesie for you (I need to check with the family first but otherwise you can have 1st refusal :).
