With what has been said about the self scan units is it possible to use Barcode Scanner which is an App on an Android phone... I know if I scan the barcode of a product it tells me how much it is at different stores ect just though it may work with some of these bargains...I can never get to Mr T so i cant check it out.
Just a thought.
The problem with using a barcode scanner app is that it will check tescos main database, ie direct.tesco.com whereas we have all seen from these forums that offers can be only in extras, only in normals, only in metro, a combination, or even store specific
Nothing beats getting it done in store but if the is no in store scanner to check the price (and how many times do we see that "see staff" message on the screen) then you will have to take a gamble and go through the checkouts to see if it works (oh, left my wallet in the car!) Or risk asking a cashier for a price check. Remember that 3 for 2, BOGOF and the like won't show on a store scanner anyway.I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.

Can someone please help? I tried my luck today and was totally embarrassed myself. I didn't really know where I was looking but went upstairs to the electrical department and looked through the cameras. I couldn't find any on the list but there were hundreds n I was in s rush so there may have been some. I picked up one that was marked with a star Abd took it to the desk. The lady had to go out back and get the box which took ages and it came up at 89.99 I then asked if she had a few
On the list and she went to look but no joy.
I proceeded downstairs all gloomy where I found a lone camera down the reduced aisle, ex display marked at £10.00 off 79.99 I thought I would try it and it came up at £25.0 so I bagged that!
All the other cameras were just boxed pieces of paper so to get them
Scanned the assistant had to go out back and find the camera. Is this normal?
What I wanted to know though was am I looking in completely the wrong place? I'd love to get my daughter one. She's only 3 but she loves my camera and isnt interested in her v tech. She takes some good photos and would make an excellent z mad
Preset - at this price I don't mind.
Where are ppl finding these cameras? Is it the electrical department or is it the reduced aisle? Or both? Please give me
some tips?

Be careful with the hand-held scanners. They are not always accurate. I've scanned items and thought I've found a DTD but then used the store scanner and it's shown the correct price.:mad:0 -

They have brushed steel two slice toasters for £1.70 at Hartlepool, I got the £12 bread maker as a christmes gift and its better than mine that coast £60!
I also got two single electric under balnkest for £3.75 each.
I got a nice fuji finepics alos as a christmes gift at the Durham market place store for £15 too.0 -

Quite a few stores photocopy the box front and put it in a cd case. It means they can put more out in the same space. However with no bar code it has to be looked up manually.
Yes, these hand held scanners CAN look up current prices but it does depend on what the operator is doing at the time. If they are in the middle of scanning a long list of items they will not want to exit it to scan your thing. Keep looking, my store hasnt had them until tonight then they were just all heaped together in the sale aisle:TI given up hope of ever finding them!

You have to search and find an assistant to do a price check, who then walks over to CS desk, pushes the queue and checks.
Hmmm got to be a bit careful with going to CS for a price check, being told your item costs 50 quid then going back to the same desk and probably the same people saying oh I think I have been charged too much, the shelf says 20.
