I can only suspect he/she is referring to a store that happens to be next to a PC world within that local area, as opposed to another store.

guess we have to mind readers

  • Some Edinburgh area updates:

Russell Hobbs 14863 Steam Generator Iron £15 (£100)
These are in PC world and d*loch park hunfemline.

Russell hobbs steamglide digital iron 2400w 14996 £6 barcode 2239
Amazingly still plenty of these in PC world. It isn't at eye level so what do you expect.

    Tefal Iron (FV2150) £2.50
Some in C"linton Mains. This was on Tuesday but you never know.

    Breville 3.5 Litre Slow Cooker vtp066 (5011773038775) (SEL £20) £4
Plenty in tesco pc world. There was one beat up box on the shelf but there's plenty more out the back.

EDIT: updates are fresh and only a few hours old apart from the col mains one. I'm a nighshift cabbie so I've been checking all the stores in the edin area out.

Hi, Im kinda new to all of this so forgive my ignorance. Is that Russel Hobbs Iron available at 15 pounds throughout all stores or just edinborough? I dont really understand...

Should`nt the prices be the same throughout the UK?

If it is right I want to get an Iron now, I live in Bromley, Kent

    Thanks

Do you not think AW10 is a later model than SS10? Given that aw is autumn winter and ss is spring summer. I would have thought the oldest model would be the cheaper one.

The info in my post was that taken from those who have actually bought said models. The only thing I have ever been sure about is SS11 being £99. I do, however, think there is no logic to reducing a later model more than an earlier model so am dubious about the prices you have listed of the 2010 models.

I still think people should be looking for SS10 - given that's the number someone reported way back on page 118 (i think) even giving the barcode.

If you read back, you'll see I've actually purchased the twin dvd set too. I wasn't pulling that info out of my !!!!, you know. I was speaking from experience. Also, you don't spend 7 years on here and get almost 4k thanks by making stuff up. It seems it took a lot of people to tell you that you were wrong before you finally accepted it. I'll graciously accept the apology from you that I know is forthcoming. ;)

Let me make one thing absolutely clear in regards to Tesco:

THERE IS NO LOGIC IN TESCO PRICING.

Oh, and by the way, the post you linked to stating that it said SS11 was the cheap version doesn't say that at all. Maybe you shouldn't skim read?

Barcode you need is 5052109609924. There are at least two versions with the man on...the cheap ones are the one with the code on the front bottom left that ends in 'AW10' (not SS11).

Sorry, I didn't mean my post to sound patronising, so sorry if I offended you xxxxxx

No you didn't at all. I realised that after many people had corrected me it must have been my mistake and I wasn't offended at being corrected, just embarrassed.

Thank you for being so nice about it.

    :) x

Who says I'm ranting or over-reacting? Maybe you should learn not to read emotion into typed messages.

The person was trying to help and got it wrong. I, along with many others, pointed out that she was wrong, but she would not have it. My first post to her merely corrected her mistake. Her reply to this was to state that I was wrong (even though I've actually bought the product she's talking about). She cited other posts claiming that they backed up what she was saying. However, if you read the posts she mentioned, you'll see that they actually say the opposite of what she was passing off as gospel truth. I help people on here all the time, and I know she was trying to be helpful. When people start saying you're wrong, at least have the decency to go check your information is 100% right before telling people who know better than you that they have got it incorrect. This is not what she did.

This thread is confusing enough with so much information regarding similar products having different barcodes, product codes, etc. The last thing we need is someone repeatedly posting incorrect info when everyone else is telling her she's wrong. People take the info gleaned from this thread and go off in search of those elusive items. They don't stand a chance of finding them if the info they are working off is wrong.

One more thing; I wasn't saying she was wrong based on my opinion of what she'd said. She was factually incorrect.

I'm the half asian guy with the shaved head, so you'll know if it was me or not. I noticed 2 garmins had gone and the last one went yesterday. We have 3 price check points on health & beauty, meat aisle of fresh and 1 on clothing. They're all broke though. It's funny because there's a popular perception on here that we deliberately disable them, when in truth they break all the time and its an experience trying to get someone to fix them

Then it was you! I went in and bought the other Garmin and the girl was having trouble finding it and you went straight in and showed her where it was. Twice I opened my mouth to say 'hi AJ' but I didn't want to embarrass you in front of your staff.

Out of all the stores I visit, yours is the one that I go to the least because of having no scanners. I don't like to trouble the assistants for prices as they are busy.

AJ do you know why our region hasn't had the Lumie bodyclocks? I have seen that B.mont Leys has a sign up where the out of stock Lumie Arabica light would be but i've never seen the bodyclocks or even SEL where they should be? Was that more of a regional thing?

Also, I worked in your store when it first opened.. thats quite a while ago!

Wow, I've clearly peed you off, no need to have a dig at anyone else.

I have accepted I was wrong and apologised for it.
In addition, I have gone back through my posts to correct the info I stated (and at no point did I say it was gospel). I didn't claim that you were wrong, I was just questioning the logic of older models being more expensive.

I was trying to help and admittedly did a very poor job of it. Again, for this I apologise.

For the record, I wasn't skim reading, I believe I have a severe case of pregnancy brain.
  • Went to the sl0ugh store last night, there was no electrical bargains to be had but did manage to pick up a few toys. I've been over there about three times now and think I missed all the decent electrical bargains, but have managed to sort all my DD xmas pressie :D

At one point thought I had found the Twin DVD player then realised it was the wrong model. Also found a Fuji camera for £15 but they were out of stock.

If anyone could point me in the right direction to get the Twin DVD player, Breville slow cooker or a Garmin sat nav in the Berkshire/Buckinghamshire area I would be very grateful

    Thanks :)
