I know this is going to sound petty, but I purchased this model over the weekend and got charged £90...could you please upload your receipt so I can try and get the over charge repaid.
What do you think my chances are...I know its still a bargain but an over charge is an over charge, right!
thx
Mark

That just proves the point though. We've all got family and friends who'd want a cheap laptop/netbook if we didn't need it ourselves, so the chance of anyone having even one to offer to a total stranger is incredibly low.
It doesn't really prove your point at all. I asked a few of my friends if they were interested and only one was. If I come across another, it will definitely be going on here, as no-one else I know wants one. Incidentally, I am waiting to hear back on another one from a store, so it's not as unlikely as you make out.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Exactly! Speaking of which, a few years back a very friendly and generous MSEr gave me (a complete stranger) a couple of tickets to the Round of 16 World Cup match in Stuttgart for free (England vs Ecuador). Thanks to her kindness, I was able to take my son to see England play and win a World Cup match! I'd say being given a pair of World Cup tickets to an England match is far more unlikely than someone having a spare laptop, but it happened.
There are scummy, selfish !!!!!!s out there and there are nice, helpful people out there. I prefer to try to help people, even total strangers. I've been helped by total strangers and I like to pass that on to others. Think about it - this site was set up by Martin so that he could help total strangers. Maybe a few more people on here would do well to remember that and stop all the negativity. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
