  • I'm sure if someone posts, "I got ........... today" it would mean its still on and the question "is it still on" on the same day really doesn't need answering does it.

As of today if the shop isn't open yet no-one knows the answer to the question.

I tend to take the item to a selfscan to check the price.. If its not what you were expecting cancel the transaction and take it back, if your happy with the price put it in your trolley and carry on shopping..

Make sure you cancel the transaction after youve finished price checking, or it will go on the next persons bill :eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Thats what I do xx

Ok, so I picked this thread up last night, and thought I would head to tesco today, just incase I could pick up a photo frame for the OH.

Sadly I couldn't find one, but I did manage to pick up a Garmin Edge 500 cycle computer, quite specialist thing.

    Tesco Price £17, online price £150 - £177 srp £200

I really could not believe it at all, it's the best grab it I have ever had.

    Thanks OP

Thank you so much for posting this - I had been saving for MONTHS to get the OH one of these for Christmas, and so first thing this morning I rung Tescos and when they said they had one left I jumped into the car at the speed of light!
    Managed to get it!!!!! :T:j
I also got the £3.50 Babyliss i-trim stubble, which he has also been after!
I am so happy, thank you so much OP and unclemonty for posting. OH is going to be over the moon!

    lol now I'm a troll?

Just take a look at my post history, you will see I am not a troll.

I am disappointed to see a few questions blatantly ignored this morning, including one of mine.

I appreciate in a fast paced thread questions can go unanswered but in threads when there is little activity it's not difficult to reply is it?

I admit I went about it the wrong way but it really disappoints me. It's not about being spoon fed information or anything else, just a bit of info. Exactly what czernicha provided me with, an answer which people are accustomed to on MSE the majority of the time. It's the ignorant few who let this forum down at times.

I apologise for ranting this morning.

Appreciate the apology, your post did seem a little out of character I have to say!

This is the type of success that makes me smile :)

Someone genuinely been wanting a particular item, and the savings will really help them this year :j:j
The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open
  • My understanding is all Mr T's will be going back to normal after today as they will now be getting ready for xmas  all old stock should be getting transported back to the main warehouse next week. Anything left on the shelves should continue to scan at the cheap price...and no I don't work for Mr T.
So glad to see many have had bargins after making many trips to the stores :)
  • Got a Toshiba Laptop, not the same model as previously posted it was model L670D-146, for £44.97. Took some getting though. Had to ask the assistants 3 times if they had any, then gently insist they scan all they had out the back. 3rd one was 44 quid, whilst doing this I asked another assistant if they had any ereaders. He had one in his hand, he said only this one, scanned it, when it came up at £20, said but she's buying it, indicating a colleague! I said I ddn't think you could buy things when on shift but he said well she is!
Went to checkout and casually asked if staff could buy things when working, She said definately not! She called her supervisor who promptly fetched it from the electrical desk for me to buy! Result! Have wanted a kindle for ages, but this will do nicely!! Thanks to all posters!!

all 3 scanners in my local have suddenly stopped working, then when i asked cs if they could check a price on some sponges (for washing my car) she accused me of pilfering!!!, I got so embarrassed in front of other shoppers i left my shopping where it stood.

This is really disgusting behaviour by Tesco staff, this mentality of people who cannot see other with $it is nasty.

Tesco I believe are going out of the electricals business and fundamentally are just clearing the stock.
Tesco staff are not in senior management and should not try to 'correct' prices that are decided at a much higher level, looking at a much bigger picture.

In my opinion Tesco store management seems to be in general extremely bad, staff seem undisciplined and take it upon themselves to make rules, and most likely keep stock for themselves to sell on ebay (as has been admitted to someone on this board)

Abusing customers is not the way to go Tesco, no wonder their market share is diminishing.
Today Tesco staff dont let customers have their 'bargains' tommorow there will be less Tesco jobs.
