    Morning All,

I'm guessing I've probably missed the boat on this, but really need a new laptop to replace the wreck that keeps dying on me here.

If anyone can advise (PM if preferred) what models may still be available, it would be very much appreciated.

    I'm in Reading area.

    Thanks for any help.

How have I missed this thread??!!! :o

Is there still bargains to be had or have I missed out on this one?

I have noticed this thread on the front page for a while now, but never really took much notice. I told myself that if I see a thread keep being bumped to the top of the page to LOOK AT IT but I didn't.! :( I did the same thing with the DTD at Tesco, missed the first week of that because I didn't have a look, vowed never to do it again......silly me!

hi you need to scan the ones with the man on the front with his arms in the air, the ones with the boy are the newer ones which i doubt will come down in price.HTH

Are the man ones still scanning at £24 I thought someone said they had checked and they had gone up.

I heard that there are 2 types of the man standing, one with SS is the model number and one with AW

Apparantly its the one with AW that scans at £24 (not found any myself)
I have seen loads of SS and they scan at full price :(

Only been catching up on this thread the last 24hrs and promised myself that my car was not moving this weekend so i will not be going to Tesco. Would be interested to know if anyone managed to get anything from P@t@rb@r@ugh Extra tho as they are normally quite scarce on these deals.

    Hi guys,

I headed down to my local Tesco after reading through this thread!! (I can't believe some of the bargains you guys have got!!) I was looking for the crazy cheap laptops!! I asked a sales guy about 'the reduced laptops' that 'a friend' ha told me about!! He knew straight away which ones I was talking about because he bought one yesterday!!! He said they were completely sold out so I asked him if they had any other cheap laptops. he took me over to the clearance/ex-display shelf and pointed out a GORGEOUS HP Notebook that was reduced from £499 to £399! He told me he would double check the price for me because he knew it had been reduced further because he was going to buy it before he got his crazy cheap one! He scanned the label and it came through at £149 and he offered me an extra 10% off because it was an ex-display model!! It was literally in perfect condition!! He explained that I would still get the free 1 year warranty on it and that even though it was ex-display if there was anything actually wrong with it I could take it back!!
I don't have that kind of money available to spend as I need the money in my bank to pay bills so I called my dad who agreed to lend me the money and snapped up the laptop!!!
    £500 laptop for £134.10??? Don't mind if I do!!!!

The only issue is that laptops no longer come with Microsoft Office so I'm going to have to try and get hold of a copy!! On the cheap if I can!!!

Thanks so much for the all the thread posts about your bargains, it led me to my beautiful new laptop!!

I did try all the straighteners as well but they were scanning at shelf price!! I got some very strange looks walking backwards and forwards from the electrical beauty to the scanner with baskets full of hair straighteners!!

So no other bargains for me other than the laptop although I'm very interested in the Pyrex dishes someone mentioned so I might be head back tomorrow!!

    Thanks again everyone!!!

    Jo

    xx

the pyrex dishes are wrapped in a clear wrapper and barcode is 34264700160063, there are 2 x 22x 13cm and 1 x 39 x 25cm in the pack

  • Congrats to everyone who managed to bag something useful at a bargain price. I am really pleased with my Sony camera for £30 as my old digital camera is like a brick in comparison!

Must admit I took a quick trip to my local Mr Ts yesterday hoping for a bargain laptop, no luck I'm afraid, but have never seen so many people scouring the electrical aisles lol!

You're all such a helpful bunch! NOT!

Sorry but people have blatantly ignored a couple of posts this morning, people asking if this is still ongoing or not. A simple 'yes', or 'no' would suffice.

I usually keep my mouth shut, I hate trouble makers but I am so p!ssed off with the lack of help on this thread this morning. Not the spirit of MSE at all! Is it so difficult to answer a fellow MSE member?

    It's down right rude!

    Thanks guys...

For anyone catching up now I've since apologised for my outburst.
