Hi steph thanks for your reply, but yes we were at the grand pasa in marmaris in july and we were told by the rep to the hotel and the rep at the grand pasa we could upgrade if we wanted to do some shopping and take things home, but it had to be done 5 days before departure via the rep0

Just a way for the airline to make even more money - 15kg instead of 20kg - 5kg instead of 10kg
Not sure I follow, how's it another way of the airline making money, you get 15kg hold allowance and 5kg cabin bag allowance as standard, you can upgrade to 20kg hold allowance if you wish, there is no preasure to do this, 5kg cabin bagage has always been the case for Thompsons, Thomas Cook etc package holidays, may be different terms for flight only, I don't know because I've never done flight only. Dallaman airport is the only place I've had my cabin bag weighed and I've heard it's a little scam that the check in staff use to make a few bob, don't know how true it is.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
Luckily I bought the 5kg hold luggage option. Stupid me, never thought about people transferring it to the cabin luggage, 10kg is the norm though so charging and being stricter on that piece of luggage would be fairer to all. Sorry didn't realise you were flight only, yeh on that its 5kg of hand luggage free and if you want hold luggage you pay for 20kg.
I'm afraid the moaners in life have spoilt things for people, years ago luggage was free, meals were free and seats together were free and then you got your moaners, wanting to know why they had to have these things and if they didn't have them would it be cheaper, so now it is and the people that want to have them have to pay, also the growth in low cost airlines has an effect on the charters.0 -

I know some of the budget airlines do but like I said, the only place I've had cabin bag weighed whilst on a package holiday was at Dallaman, I have to admit, I don't take the chance anyway, I always check weigh our Cabin bags just to be safe.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0
