  • Didn't you ask the same question a couplke of days ago and didn't I suggest you speak to your Thomas Cook rep in resort
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

In Turkey in May they were charging £8 kilo for excess baggage and were very strict.
Were in Turkey now but don't have a rep as flight only, but have a 20kg allowance

In may they were advising you to use empty check in desks and weigh your luggage and allowing you to take things out and put in your hand luggage, did not weigh the hand luggage as long as it was a reasonable size.
  • But sometimes they do weigh the hand luggage. We have had a right carryon sometimes just being very slightly over with hand luggage and have had to dump stuff.

  • with respect yes i have asked before, this is my dilema
we have booked with thomas cook for 2012,why should we pay £60 just to take more luggage out (ie clothes we don't really need)

we are trying to find someone that has travelled with thomas cook this year to see if you can upgrade in resort for journey home from dalaman (this is only about £30 with thomson)

if i ask thomas ccok they will want to sell me the £60 upgrade from england

i asked in may if i could do this and the answer was no
its just as easy to pay for the extra before you go its not worth the expense and hassel at the airport
  • it wasn't at the airport, the thomson rep was offering this at the hotel(grand pasa in marmaris) and i am desperately trying to find out if thomas cook are offering the same.
  • if there is anybody out there at the grand pasa will you ask joanne the thomas cook rep for me
    many thanks

I'm leaving for Turkey next week with Thomas Cook and couldn't believe the 5kilo hand luggage T&C.

This is because people pay for 15kg luggage and then want to ram what they can't fit in their case in their hand luggage, not fair on the people who've paid for 20kg.

As for can you pay for extra luggage on the way home i don't think so at the moment but if thomsons are doing it don't spose it will be long before TC will be.

Luckily I bought the 5kg hold luggage option. Stupid me, never thought about people transferring it to the cabin luggage, 10kg is the norm though so charging and being stricter on that piece of luggage would be fairer to all. Just a way for the airline to make even more money - 15kg instead of 20kg - 5kg instead of 10kg
