When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Morning :hello: HAPPY THURSDAY :j:j only today & tomorrow to go and then we are back to freedom :j (I also have 2 weeks off so its pure freedom for me )

I should be getting ready but here I am as usual faffing around on the pc! :o

today:
  • checked banking & cc statement - the cashback has been credited :T
  • am going to use this & £5 nectar reward towards a winter quilt (duck down on amazon £25 :T bargain!) & zumba for the wii & it will only cost me £10 (my half of the quilt :T)
  • call Ovo & npower as I have changed energy suppliers & both have taken dds out of my account  so that's £160 spent on elc & gas this month. Has scr3wed the joint account so hope I can get one of them back....
  • breakfast, lunch & dinner from stores
  • serious packing after work
  • wii fit for an hour
that's all I can think of! Happy days everyone x

Ziggy good luck for today x

    Morning everyone. :)
Will be gathering veg from the garden to freeze, after perusing through my old Mary Berry's Popular Book Of Home Freezing last night. :D
There's a whole section on freezing tatties which seems easy enough so will try some chips, mash and wedges. We eat a lot of tatties here as they are filling and tasty, so having some ready in the freezer for those days I'm feeling too rough to cook will be a boon. :)
Catching up with the washing too and drying outdoors as I'm sure I read somewhere we are due to get the tail edge of Hurricane Irene up here soon so am anticipating gale force weather maybe after the weekend.
hope everyone has a good day. :)

Good morning all! I hope you don't mind me joining in with you today, but I feel I need you guys to keep me on the straight and narrow.

I'm going to start off small, as I keep on setting myself up for a fall with a million things to do and no time to do them.

So today I shall do the following: -
Investigate when I can cancel my gym membership. Emailed, currently waiting for an answer. Have heard from gym, and because this months money has already gone, it is cancelled from 1st October. Therefore I shall be using and abusing the gym until then!
    Check all bank accounts Done.
List five things to sell on ebay/amazon Three things listed on amazon and three on ebay. Whoppee! Lets hope lots of people want my [STRIKE]junk [/STRIKE] treasures!
Shopping was delivered yesterday, so I will do a menu for the week
Sort out all clothes and put away.
Take change to bank. Taken change to post office £96 banked for holiday spending money.
Post ipod for recycling. Packaged up, but forgot to take with me. Will post tomorrow.

I think that is pretty manageable for today.

Hope everyone has a good day, thanks for letting me join in and please feel free to harass me if I don't update my list today! Get me, I've updated it twice so far!
    October make £10/day currently £11.02
