Currently paying £430 car insurance for 10 months which at the time was the cheapest i could find. Its up for renewal next month and had a quotes from loyds tsb for £480 for 12 months, this seems a good offer as going via quidco you can recieve £120 cashback.
Has anyone any experience with loyds? are they any good and hoe reliable is the cashback?
Thanks

Hi - I took out my car insurance with Lloyds via quidco in July and it has only just tracked. But I think they are meant to be much more reliable now. On the quidco site there is a blog area where people have put comments on things like this, which is quite useful to have a look at. There are other companys offering big cashback as well for insurance but Lloyds was the best quote for me.
All documents came through quickly from Lloyds but never had to make a claim so don't know how good they are then.
Hope that helps

I took out insurance from Lloyds on the 4th February through quidco (£80 cashback). The payment date for that was the 4th of June, so four months.
In that time, I've had my windscreen replaced through the policy (£75 excess, which is a little more than usual for windscreen replacements, usually £60-£70). All went really smoothly though as these things are pretty standard. Just don't go with RAC windscreens (one of their recommended windscreen repairers) as they are crap.
Further, in October I was involved in an accident, some silly woman reversed into my car while I was stopped in trafic, leaving two wrecked doors. She denied it was her fault (apparently she was doing a U-turn, behind parked cars, on a busy town centre road, up on a pavement, next to a junction, right opposite another junction, right next to a carpark she could have turned round in, didn't look backwards while reversing straight into me when I was just stationary), and yes, somehow it was my fault.
I wasn't really impressed with how Lloyds handled it. Since the accident, the ONLY time they have contacted me was to send the standard claim pack out. No letters of progress updates, no phone calls, nothing. I called several times to be told such as 'we'll have an answer for you in 7 days', to which no call came. I Called back, 'oh, the other person was wrong, it will be another 10 days'. I Called back 'we'll send you a letter updating you of progress in the next couple of days'. I Called back, 'Not sure what the other advisers were on about, it will be 21 days before we know'. You get the idea.
So, called last night, 'we've received the cheque for the vehicle repairs, we're just waiting for the cash to pay for your excess now'. Not sure how that works to be honest. I'm expecting to have to call them up to chase it. They've made no attempt to find out if I have any out of pocket expenses or other compensation requirements, though I had to have a few days off work to sort it all out.
While my car was in repair at their only authorised repair centre, they raided the cash I had out of my glove box. When I took my curtosy car back (to Enterprise), they tried to scam me out of keeping my deposit. Not Lloyds fault I know.
Not sure how this stacks up against other insurance companies, but for what was a very, very simple and obvious claim seemed to have been an excessivly drawn out process.
Sorry for ranting a little, I've stuck entirely to actual events, please feel free to make your own mind up!0 -
how quickly did it track anarchist?
I just purchased.0 -
Mine tracked the same day and says the payout will be in march (2 month average)0

I've just got to the confirmation screen twice after paying and each time I get an automated email saying:
Thank you for obtaining a car insurance quote from Lloyds TSB recently. This is a reminder that the policy start date you selected is only 3 days away. If you buy your Car Insurance policy online you will qualify for special internet prices when you buy online.
According to my final screen, I've paid and documents are bring processed to be sent to me. I phoned after the first attempt and they have no record of my order.
What the hell?0
