Mobile phone inssurance.. How to get rid of it
I bought a contract phone on the net and the phone arrived quikly all well and along with it came 3 months free inssurance... all done n forgotton when suddenly on one day I get an invoice from the inssurance company mobile phone supercover and thanking me for choosing them ( which I never did!!)
It was nowhere mentioned in the terms and conditions about this.
I dont want this... but anyway they would direct debit from my account the details of which must have been passed on by the phone provider.
Is there any way that I can avoid paying any money to them for inssurance as the inssurance company in their letter have stated that I need to give them one months written notice and the first payment is due on 14th march.
Kindly help

The easiest (and surest) way is to contact your bank and cancel the direct debit to the insurance company.0

Dont know what company you'd bought the phone from, but that is the normal practice by all these companies which offer 3 months free insurance, they will continue to debit you for £5.99 (or so) per month if you dont cancel after the free period. Get in touch with the company you got the phone from and see what they say.0

Or you could just say you dont want it to start with. OSPS orders allow you to do this. This may be a better way for some who would otherwise forget to cancel after the free period.I am NOT a mortgage & insurance adviser - or anything to do with finance, that was put on by the new system I dont know why?!0

Ring the company to discuss it. And cancel the direct debit with your bank; make sure there isn't a 2nd DD for technical support or cancel this too.0
