Well it looks like my 3rd consecutive NSD today, I am yet to spend any of the budget thanks to my cupboard scavenge and some creative menu planning
I was saying to DH last night though, we live a stones throws distance from T*sco, A*di, A*sa and L*dl... this has made shopping on a daily basis a bad habit and I am chomping at the bit to get out there and find some bargains. I am stopping myself though because I don't actually *need* anything until the weekend
So today I am going to immerse myself in ironing, baking and bubblewrapping my windows :rotfl:Debt Free Journey started 21.05.20170 -
Morning All,
Just popping on to update. I spent £2.49 today on bread and milk for work (we take turns buying it) so that now takes my total to £97.22/£250. This is going to be one looooooong month!

Morning all. Another NSD yesterday but have been to the shops today already and spent £29.23. This included a huge box of washpowder of 50 washes so that should last me a couple of months, 3 for £3 milk for the rest of the week, a bag each of sr and plain flour ( GF so expensive!!), a bottle of wine, some cans of basics rice pudding and pineapple as we were out and they are our late night emergency after running snacks, some polenta and paella rice as we were out of those, and some basics teabags. Our storecupboards are fit to bursting, but we have hardly any fresh stuff or fruit juice in so will be visiting Aldi to top up on those tomorrow as am in town.
Am eating up my budget so will have to be very careful from now on but am off to do a meal plan and try to just eat from the cupboards for alot of the month.
I think I will make spaghetti pomodoro for dinner tonight as everyones in and out quickly. Am probably going to get a big veggie chilli going in the SC too to freeze for next week and make into lunch portions for OH for the rest of this week. Better go and dig around in the veggie drawer and see what I can throw in!!! Will also make a batch of Gnocchi for the freezer as they're so handy to just defrost for a quick meal and we lovee them so.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

Went to Tesco last night and they had loads of reduced bread so got a load of rolls and loaves for the grand total of £1.87 - also bought a big bag of Walkers cheese and chutney sensations which for some reason were only 87p instead of the usual £1.85, although they weren't marked as special offer.
Need to make soup out of my chicken carcass today but don't know what kind to make - I usually do chicken noodle or chicken and barley and I fancy something different. Will have a look at recipes later.
Lunch will be soup (kids in school with packed lunches) and dinner tonight is Aldi pork chops which I got on offer, with new potatoes and roasted peppers and onions. DD2 will probably have hers with beans as she doesn't like peppers though.
The custard cookies sound nice so I think I will make them in a minute.
My sister came to visit yesterday and she had just been to the QVC outlet shop and had brought me a lovely set of cooks essentials pans, which were reduced to clear to £14.99 - they were over £60 full price but one of the lids was dodgy - I fixed it quite easily though so am well pleased as my pans were in a woeful state!!!
Right off to make the custard cookies! BTW Freakygore, the Aldi Magnum washing up liquid is fab but make sure you get the right one - there is a big bottle and a bottle which looks like fairy - don't get the big bottle (even though its the same price) because that's rubbish - its the magnum concentrated that is the best!Jane

Just back from Mr T's, had to get yet more milk! Children were lactose intolerant when they were young, I swear they are making up for it now!
So £12.89 added to my spend today for milk, fruit shoots, bananas, eggs and desiccated coconut.
The fruit shoots were on offer and I use the empty bottles for DD2 to take to school, works out cheaper than buying proper water bottles that she always manages to break within a week.
Going to have a baking day today, planning on making Banana cake, Impossible coconut pie, Millies cookies, Custard cookies and Bread (OH dropped my bread maker:mad:) all from the recipes thread and then maybe a milk jelly and some rock cakes as I have not had those for years.

It looks like we are all doing very well on our NSD so far.
I have just sat down with all my receipts for the month so far and will keep a "disciplined" diary. So far I have spent $58.38 on food stuff (forgot about the credit card purchases). I have updated my diary and will try my level headed hardest to spend cash only. No credit cards again this month.Return and Restart August 2016

Got home from a few days in N.Ireland last night and got a few things from the supermarket. Loads more that we need (kidney beans, onions, soya mince, apples, tortilla wraps, loo roll off the top of my head) but managed to get:
Organic Milk £1.55
Chopped Tomatoes x2 £0.66
Yoghurts x4 £0.29
Wholemeal bread £1.15
Light olive spread £1.39
Branflakes £0.77
for a total of £5.81
I'm fairly pleased with this, as OH and I were both very tired and would have loved to buy a nice ready meal or something!

Updating sig with latest spend £31.35, this is all from the weekend but I have only just added my receipts up.
Got really stocked up with most things so it will make it easier this weekend when we go grocery shopping. Will only need milk and yoghurts - I just really hope i'm not swayed by any offers. I must stay strong ...0 -
Spent £9.34 in Al*i last night, got their own brand ridge crisps as OH goes through tons of the 'proper' ones, have to say they are really nice and only 85p.
Anyway thats £72.25 / £240, slightly over for the week but can make up for that over the next couple of weeks :rotfl:1 debt in 100 days: £107.28 / £737.38Sept Grocery Challenge: £140.00 / £240.000
