O2 Pay Monthly texting abroad

Quick question:-
Am i right in saying that even though I am on a pay monthly contract with O2 on the iPhone that if I am texting from Cyprus to the UK, the costs don't come out of my monthly textballowance - and instead cost an additional 10p per text?
