Morning all,
First UU for September: LUSH Dream cream. WBA as it's gorgeous! Love the smell/texture/everything! It's not a heavy-duty moisturiser though, so I might try something thicker in winter. For now I've got another 5 full-size butters to use up - the S&G ones look rather too sticky and heavily scented after dream cream though.
Red looks gorgeous, Trudij!0 -

These sample boxes were available in the US (they get more generously sized products too grrr) quite a while before they were introduced here. I considered getting one but I know I will want to buy full sizes if I like the product, so for the safety of my bank balance it's best I stay away0 -
Now my hair is fairly short I've been experimenting with how little shampoo is needed for an effective clean- 4 ml, just short of a teaspoon, mixed with a little warm water in the palm of my hand and applied to damp rather than wringing wet hair appears to be the minimum. A little more in the way of conditioner is needed. The method I use to wash my hair doesn't generate a lot of lather anyway (I wash my hair as if I was sponging down fabric rather than piling it up and tangling it, which wrecks it). Of course, using this little does mean that my shampoo and conditioner will last a lonnnnggggggggg time....Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Do you need the stuff you'd be getting samples of, or do you already had plenty in stock? Refer to Martin's money-mantras!
trudij Red looks fabulous! Thoroughly contented with life!
One UU to report - my Avon ANEW Reversalist Sterling Night Emulsion - WIBA? This is the one I got as a freebie after I'd been a rep for a few campaigns - I started using it in my usual deeply cynical way assuming it would do nothing and was deeply and pleasantly surprised. I would happily buy it again as it really did have an effect on my skin, but there are other things I will try first I expect.
I only have a sample sized pot of night cream now (another ANEW one) so will switch to using my Clinique DDM day and night until that goes, then start using the sample pots of the Day and Night creams together.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi mcculloch,
My mum was a hairdresser for years and swears blind that you should only shampoo the very top of your head (where the oil is produced) and then condition the ends. I use about the same amount as you, (little more condiitoner maybe) and my hair is down to my shoulderblades! I have a 400ml bottle of shampoo that has lasted two and a half months!
Happy September everyone! Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Meant to add, what a lovely pic of Red, Trudi, she will be like a house by January.. she looks really well.
Edited as I didn't see Betty's post ... how interesting! Thanks! Rightyo, off to shampoo .. got up early and then stuck myself in front of the pc to work - still here hours later, unwashed and unbreakfasted!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Trudij Red looks so beautiful I can't say. I'm getting excited now, can't wait til January!
Re: shampoo & conditioner, I've been using more conditioner than usual to try to finish it at the same time as the shampoo. However the other day I squeezed it quite hard (it was less than half-full and the top part of the tube was flat iykwim?) and loads came pouring out. I looked at the tube and it looked full! Before the top half had been empty. Now I know it can't be filled, and it's not been replaced by somebody, but somehow the conditioner must have moved to the top??! If I'd imagined it before, it's probably half-full now!
I've been slacking with moisturising after showering and cleansing my face in the morning, so got to get back to using things.
UU
M&S Daly Repair Smoothing Night Cream: WIBA? It's no longer available in this format, I bought it for £2 in the sales earlier in the year. I did really like it actually. No night cream in stash so will use a sample of Clinique DDM to finish it.
Clinique Advanced night cream (or something similar) gwp size: WIBA? No. This gave me red itchy skin. I don't know if it was because I was using it on top of the EL Advanced Night Repair Serum or just because of itself. I was going to try it alone, but remembering last night how itchy my face was last time I used it, I'm not brave enough to risk itGoing in the bin!

Hi all, I'm in for September please!
To start with, I have an unexpected in and an unexpected out...
My unexpected in is a bottle of BS coconut shimmer body lotion. I ordered the spray from the last BS glitch and they sent me the lotion in a pump bottle by mistake (which is no good for me as it's to go in my gym bag and it would end up pumping itself all over the place!). I rang them and they said I could keep the lotion and they would send me the spray as well
My unexpected out isn't strictly toiletries but it comes from Boots so that's close enough for me! I went to a festival at the weekend and someone came in my tent while I was sleeping and stole my first aid kit! How annoying! Recently I've been having bad histimine reactions to insect bites and because my piriton and antihistimine cream were stolen I now have one enormous puffed up leg where I got bitten - not a good look! Had to spend £45 in boots on a new first aid kit, painkillers, cold stuff (cos I've got a cold at the mo) and antihistimines. Rubbish.
I have an in - OPI correct and clean up pen. I wanted a remover pen for ages and chose this one over the boots own brand as I was impressed that it was refillable. It is the biggest pile of bob I've ever owned! It doesn't dispense the remover into the pen tip so I'm effectively just chiselling the nailvarnish off my fingers with the tip. I'm going to write to them and complain as I paid £10 for this and it is rubbish. I guess I can't return it to Boots now I've used it? It has purple nailvarnish on the tip so it's obvious it's been used.
Outs -
Had a hair dying session so used L'Oreal naples black dye and directions flamingo pink dye. I WBA as the pink is my HG product and you can't really go that wrong with black hairdye lol.
2 x Model secrets one night hair glitter. Deeply rubbish. Didn't dispense any glitter onto my hair, just some suspcious looking red snotty stuff. I will give away the other two to my friend's little girl for her dressing up box.
Aveda hand relief cream mini - lovely lovely stuff. WBA when I've got through the other 47,000 moisturisers in my stash!
Boots vitamin E SPF15 moisturiser - WNBA as didn't absorb into my skin very well, making it difficult to put makeup over the top.
Total for September - 1 IN, 6 OUT.
I'm going to be sooooooo good this month on the buying toiletries front as I've seen the most amazing Biba winter coat that I want, but even with a 20% discount and some vouchers I won it will still cost me £86 - eek! But I haven't bought a new winter coat in about 5 years and this one will make me look amazing and I'm going to wear it with a floppy sixties hat and swan around looking like Marianne Faithfull - how fabulous!0 -
Ooh, I forgot an out, so that brings me up to 1 IN and 7 OUT for September -
Lush Sandstone soap - WIBA? Yes I would as I love lush soaps - this one seemed to lose its soap-a-bility after a couple of months and I had to work really hard to get a lather from it. Maybe because I kept it on the windowsill? Anyway, am on to one of the mini lime hotel soaps as they're nice and small so therefore quick to use up!0
