Another UU: l'Occitane 4 reines rose (or whatever it's called) hand lotion 15ml.

WIBA? It's nice, but not as nice as some of the others.

I bought a little Vaseline rosy pot. I don't have any more and thought it would be good to have in my desk drawer at work. Does that count as an in?

If it was me I wouldn't consider it an IN if you are going to use it straight away. This is my justification of INs because the item is not being added to a stash of similar items. IYKWIM.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

OMG 7 pages to catch up since the start of the month  been away, no UUs yet but hopefully no INs this month.
I have avoided the new Body Shop thread on the Grabbit board ;)
    Away to catch up :D

I was thinking about why we all seem to have so much stuff. Reading this thread it's clear that you're all smart, funny women so why the need to accumulate so much?

I think that for lots of us it's got something to do with having understood at a young age that we're judged on our appearance and feeling (irrationally, irrespective of how smart we are) that there's a product out there that will make us perfect or irresistible or like the images of airbrushed perfection we're constantly confronted with.

For me it started with feeling less feminine than other girls in my early teens because I was tall, skinny and flat chested (quite like it now, although not as skinny as I was then!). I've got dark hair and pale skin and I remember a girl in my class saying, "ooh, aren't you hairy! Look, isn't Helen hairy?" and pointing at my arms. So in my mind, accumulating make up, toiletries and perfume (and yes, things to make my feet - size 8 to match my height and showing the signs of having spent many years in heels - prettier and more girly) made me feel that I was more like other girls! Self tan mania also began around then.

I'm sure we each have our own motivations but I think the reason using stuff up is so satisfying is that by doing so we're kind of confronting our demons if you see what I mean!

I am afraid my reasons are nowhere near this deep!!

I just love sparkly pretty things, especially eyeshadow, I think I have about 100 in total
None bought this year since starting this challenge though!
No more buying unnecessary toiletries 2018
    35 UU / 13 unnecessary ins

Thanks VALM - that's my theory as well: stuff that will definitely be used straight away doesn't count as it's not being 'stashed'. :)

And Roobie, I've done your questionnaire as well. Pickles are allowed to so it as well, no?! ;)

  • Hey all, hope everyone had a good weekend. I finally had a whole weekend where I wasn't working in the rain :D

One UU as hoped: Body shop raspberry ripple retro shower gel. WIBA? Yes, (with a special offer of course ;) )smells delicious and lasts ages, especially with scrubby gloves.
What a wonderful invention scrubby gloves are, I'm now going to try a OS shower gel with them in the morning.

Finally a sputtering shampoo this evening, and a moisturiser that I may squeek one more use out of.
  • Another UU to report (I'm doing well this month!) Sanctuary Spa body butter WIBA? definitely. This was one of the set I got in the Boots 50% sale making each 150ml pot just £2 - it lasted well, applied and sunk in nicely and smelt great. Really a favourite!

I'm going to put my BS moringa scrub, BB and shower gel into use all at once now I think - means setting aside my existing shower gel for the moment but I like the idea of using matching stuff for once.

grotty start to the week after rainy sunday:(
D(?)H woke me at 4 a.m going to the loo so I went too and as sometimes happens(don't know why all tests show nothing wrong but could be adhesions from ops I have had)my tummy started hurting.DH then tossed and turned for about an hour whilst I lay there in pain and he finally got up and came back to bed at 6 with tea putting the light and radio on:mad:I drank my tea then turned away from the light and he then wanted me to turn back and cuddle him, when I refused he got all stroppy with me and I ended up in tears saying how insensative he was...........then for some strange reason he gave me a lecture about how he protects me from the real world and how shelterd I am!!!!!!!

he has now gone away till tomorrow and tho he said he will call tonight I don't feel like answering but then will suffer tomorrow when he gets back:(
could not even go back to sleep as had to take car for the MOT....it passed but I need new brake pads so that will be £100 plus:eek:

sorry to moan but need to get it off my chest.Of course after crying face looks even more old and wrinkly:(:(:(....hope the day/week gets better!!!
