Our main PO still carries the normal (non prepay) ones. I do have a pretty good stock myself now.

    Andy is a typo :o

But, you don't need SD bags, you can send parcels/letters/packets in anything, they just stick an SD label on, easy peasy.
Y would i do that when the SD ones r free??

thanks all. i still dont get it but wahay! the ones i got from the other postie do have this hard 'peel' here part that i dont get on the ones on my local one does. is this the prepay thing? Ive never peeled it, just stuck the address label over the top!

I heard about the turning inside out thing way back and sum1 said how they can refuse to post it. Ive never done that though. that put me off even thinking about it.

next time ill just my postie for a WAD! shame they dont do the ISF bags. :(

I imagine each local PO has to order and pay for their own stationery. So they are not going to want to hand out armfuls of bags if they have to pay for it and don't get the return.

Can't imagine for one moment that a postie carries them.

What I mean is that each Post Office branch probably has to order in their own stationery supplies from Royal Mail. This would include the SD bags. So if someone asks for 100 spare bags, they may not return to the same Post Office branch to actually post the item. Therefore the PO branch has handed out 100 SD bags and not received the revenue from the SD service.

  • Can't you just set yourself up as a business customer and order them in packs for free? I'm sure I used to do this (along with air mail, recorded labels and the like). You used to fax a form in - but I think it's electronic now. I've not used it for a couple of years.
