I got another question for you guys - they said they only send cancellation notice by post, by the insurance papers were sent by email.

I got the agent's name and agent's ID number, but what else can I get to really be sure they cancelled and not fooling me? Is there any other way to get a confirmation that I cancelled with them?

If you are that worried send a letter of cancellation, by recorded delivery, to the address in the policy documentation you received.

Specify the details of the person you spoke to in the letter.

Trouble is it will cost you another few quid for the postage:eek:

    Thank you,
They might get the letter but then I would have no proof of what I sent to them in the envelope... it's getting messy this way...

I think I would just call them now and record the conversation and just confirm the policy is cancelled and save the recording in case they charge me later on just like people describe in horrible stories about their insurance.

    Because I'm stupid.

Loved this -can I use it again sometime - totally floors people and because we all are at some point.:)

Whilst the admin may appear shambolic I would give it a couple of days for their cancellation notice to arrive. If it doesn't you have the name and ID just play merry hell then.

Don't forget they have specified the costs to break etc so it is pretty clear about your intent.

I don't understand what you mean by this.
They have specified costs, ok, so it's pretty clear about my intention? What my intention (to cancel) has to do with their costs, I don't understand?

But thank you for the answer, I will wait firstly to get a notification.
