I think you still get fined if you have internet or an internet connected tv/xbox cos you can watch live streaming on it - which still counts as tele even if its not coming down your ariel. Best thing is just to get a licence.October £10 a day challenge £51.00/£310
September £10 a day challenge: £357.50/£3000 -
The fine is £1,000 and if you don't pay it you can be sent to prison. You also need to get a TV license or you will get fined again. You can pay monthly by direct debit.0

thank you for the replys I have cancelled my sky that was the first thing to go but I still have the box.
I am going to be selling the xbox there is really no need to keep it and that will be some extra cash.
I have cancelled pretty much everything that can be cancelled tbh. I still have not spoken to mum so still not sure if I already have one.
Anyway I am still going to buy one just to be on the safe side.
I'm hoping that I do have one and that I will get my money back, anyway once again thank you for the replys. Also want to apologise for any spelling mistakes or bad grammer. Not the best at explaining my situation.:A0 -
Hi midnight sky,
You've done the right thing by cancelling your Sky TV. Just buy a licence as a matter of urgency and try not to worry too much.
Maybe call them when it is sorted and explain your situation and see what they say, at leats it will stop you worrying.
Also, I would suggest posting your SOA so someone can offer advice on ways you can save some money while you are earning less.
On another note, I am yet again shocked by the judgemental and inflammatory comments you have received on this thread.
These boards are meant to help people, not make them feel worse about their situation.
How anyone can accuse the OP of just sitting at home smoking, drinking and watching Sky from the few details she provided is beyond me. Have a heart people.DMP with Payplan started 01/07/11
Starting debt £28,645
Current estimated DFD 01/11/2019
But I will get it over with sooner!!0 -

For christ's sake the poor girl only came on here to get some advice as to where she stood with regards to not having a TV licence, not to have her whole charcter assasinated and her lifestlye analysed and ctritiqued.
Midnight Sky you don't have to explain yourslf to those who seek to run you down.
I think however you are living in hope if you think you may have a TV licence as the inspectors don't call randomly they already know which properties have a licence and which don't.
You have been issued with a caution and providing you get yourself a licence that should be the last you will hear on the matter.0 -

They came to my door about a year and a half ago and said that i had no TV licence on my property but I found it and gave it to them.
If this has taught me anything it has definatly been to be more organised as I couldn't even find it this time and obviously from now on to pay for my TV licence myself and stick it to the TV!!.
Thank you for the last couple of posts above aswell I realise I haven't made the smartest move giving my job up it just seemed the right decision at the time. Looking back now proberly not but I am trying my best to get back into work ASAP.
thanks again for the advice i really appreciate it.:A0 -

Ive just be fined for tv license, I was stupid and even tho he "only" cautioned you it WILL go to court and you will get fined, I was fined 1000, 250 court fees, and 125 in victim charges or something.
I'm a single mum of a 2 year old and 6 month, it isnt an excuse to why i didnt pay the tv license, i know it was my fault and i had to deal with the punishment.
It wont go to court instantly i was cautioned in feb this year and it went to court about 4 weeks ago.
The ourt will come up with a suitable repayment plan according to your incomings and outgoings.0
