Actually by noticing this and querying it, Greenlight are seemingly doing better than most.

Many insurers will happily let you make a false declaration and only tell you about it when it comes to pay out time, at which point they get to keep your year's premium, not pay out and cancel your policy with no refund all at once.

Before some smart alec pops up, no this has never happened to me. I do know people who it has happened to though.

To add to the situation, he did say over the phone there was a chance they won't agree to insure me at all.

That seems to be the Greenlight way. They used to sponsor the insurance section on Scoobynet but did have a lot of issues. If you were the car and driver that matched their profile they could be rather cheap. Unfortunately for a car club that likes imports, modifying etc etc they often ended up refusing to insure people!

I think the chap that used to come on the forum was called Tony. No idea how high up the rankings he is if you wanted to plead the case.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

All sorted - £52 extra. Good result and very happy considering I was worried about cancellation, losing £££ as well as having to declare insurance cancelled for the rest of my life.

Why bigjl? It was a £40 saving AND better cover... and it only took two phone calls to switch.
IF I didn't have this problem with the conviction, then it would've been the right thing to do.

I'll see what they say in the phone call tomorrow but I'm not looking forward to it.

I've ended up spending about £10 more to get better cover... you really are an absolute !!!!!!!! aren't you bidjl?

It worked out fine in the end, but yes, the lesson is to be more careful. That is the only thing you have actually got right so far.
