  • Some good news - I'll have more left in my business at the end of this year than I thought. That'll give me the option to either hang on for a bit longer maybe or come out with something. Right now it looks like I could pay off my mortgage alltogether but there will be more costs before we wrap it up so I'm sure it won't be that good! But imagine!!!
If I did pay it off - its £300pm ( with current OP level) easier to live with no job! OR I keep the money and carry on paying the mortgage. Paying off would save about 3 years of interest which appeals - have to go and work out how much that would be but its over £2k......
Ach. No point in getting excited - I have to sublet this place first and various other nasties.
Hope I can get something out though.

So - apart from that. The long haul to payday starts again. I've got about £20 to spend on next weeks shop which is tight but I'm a maestro at that these days! Plenty in the freezer too so 101 varieties of mince or salmon coming up. Its the wine I miss......;)
    May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin! :)
    March 2019 - CC gone and bye bye M2 on 31st! £140k to go.:j
  • Why is it that the closer you get to paying off a debt, the more frustrating it feels? A whole year of really going for it and I'll have paid off over £5k in total - mainly tax credit OPs so can't complain - but its been a hard slog.
I've 3 months to go and it feels worse than at the beginning. Wierd.
Payday can't come fast enough so that I can get the highlighter pen out and strike a line through again.
As of next Friday I will owe under £1000 in all - excellent :j
Just want them gone. Savings are mounting too so its all good. I could just about clear one with the other but I like the idea of the savings being there and all is 0% debt so no biggie really to spread it out.
I have, however, wished my way through this year from one payment to the next - I must stop that soon or I'll be 80 and wondering where my life went. ;)

  • Scratched my way through the weekend. Painting and gardening - cheap at least!
Loads of tomatoes and chillies in the greenhouse but all very green and I think they'll need to come inside to ripen - pesky scottish weather. I'll hold off for another week.
Electrician back off his hols this week I think so hoping to get the few wee electrical bits done then its gutter repair.....always something needing done - like to get these bits done before the winter. So another tight month coming up. Surprise surprise - but I'll stick to my plan - £400 off the debt and £300 to savings. :A Then suffer!!

  • It was chucking it down last night. Was waiting for something to leak or fall off.
Ok so far - but I must get that gutter fixed.....

Payday tomorrow and a nother step closer to my MF dream. These are very small steps obviously but 2016 isn't that far away I keep reminding myself. This time next year I have £5K coming available - with interest of 3 years. I'm going to enjoy that day and paying it into the mortgage. I've dreamt of it for two years - only one to go!! :j

  • Emergency pot at over £2K now and debts at under £1K - that's more like it!
Mortgage at £29,223 I think - I get a statement in Dec and hope I've overestimated - my spreadsheet isn't quite the same as their calculations but close.

Have been buying DDs birthday pressis a bit at a time - helps to spread the cost and tesco have a 2 for 1 offer on disney DVDs - exploited that one. Not getting much as she's had her 'big' pressi.
Party bags sorted and other party stuff about to be ordered. Her birthdays not for a while but I can't leave it all till Nov or Christmas becomes a struggle.

I have a meal out on Saturday!!!!! Not been out for dinner for over a year........how sad is that??

  • Am going to increase my tax credit OP amount next month so that I've only two payments left - rather than let a small bit carry over to Jan. I'd like all debts gone this side of Christmas - that'll be the best present for me! If I'm frugal this month I'll manage it fine - its another £50ish each month.
I can see interest going into my savings account - 60p this month but at least its free money!!

Discovered an unopened bottle of Chanel perfume in the cup'd - should get a few bob on ebay for that - more to the savings - not that ebay money ever makes it here - just seems to end up getting me though the tight spots and with gymnastics and swimming classes to pay for this month - I know where that'll end up going. Still - keeps me in the black.

I have an overwhelming desire to go on Deal or no Deal - is that strange? Watched it at the weekend - I hate gameshows but I REALLY want to go on that one!! Maybe I need help :o

Phoned the tax credit people and its coming down faster than I thought - I think they're taking a bit off my monthly tax credit allocation for this year or something - so the good news is that the OP stands at £422 - which from £2700 is pretty good since Christmas!! :j Two months to go - yessssss. Its been a tough year but I'm glad I've hit it hard.

This month looks worse than I thought so ebaying has stated in earnest again. Its been great for seeing me through. I have a toy sale on Sat too so will hopefully make a few quid there - that fluctuates from £20 to £120 but I'll start marking stuff up tonight. I need to see myself through the month without going into overdraft so I'm Ok for birthday and christmas months. Oof. I think I've become fanatical in my MSE ways! :)

    Hmmm.
It looks like my SVR went up from 2.99% to 3.99% and I wasn't notified! Maybe they don't have to. Certainly no idea when it happened - it was still 2.99 in May when I last spoke to them but website now says 3.99.
I've worked out that to cover the fees on changing to a fixed rate the rate would need to increase buy nearly 4% before it was worthwhile. I am however twitching and my spreadsheet maybe wrong.
    MY PRECIOUS SPREADSHEET!!!!!!
Can't bear the thought of my dates changing. Maybe I should increase my OP whilst I can. I have definitely developed spreadsheet OCD. ;)

Checked my rate with Coventry BS and its still 2.99% - strange as its not what their website says but who's arguing? Thought I was on a SVR so would have gone up but I'm not complaining!!
Unfortunately my spreadsheet is adrift by £127 in the wrong direction - not sure why. Not the end of the world but thats almost two months OPs so I need to fiddle with my spreadsheets again. ;)
I've been looking online for the ultimate spreadsheet site but there are so many.........a rainy day exercise that one.

Poor DD feeling ill today but packed her off to school - bad mum. :o
Another huge load of ebay items to put on today - the novelty wears off quick but I need to raise a min of £100 to pay the electrician (guestimate) so I'm keeping at it - should manage OK - tedious exercise though.

£50 made at the sale and £70 so far on ebay - I may get to £100 so thats great.
Spent too much in the supermarket but should still have enough for the electrician.
Got DDs birthday presents to get and party to pay for.....urgh.

3 weeks till payday and we're away one of those weekends so that'll cost. Better get more outgrown stuff onto ebay then.....;)
