Get stuck into your DIY... that'll distract you from spending day dreams! Now we just need something to distract your 5 year old from Mummy's painting!!!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Found someone's wallet in the street yesterday. It was a fat wallet.....my initial reaction - before I stopped the car and got it - was - what if its full of money? What will I do??
But it wasn't - there were more credit cards than I've ever seen! Interesting.
There was also a drivers licenece so I took it round to the guy who was very relieved - felt like pointing him in the direction of MSE!!!
Skint again. 2.5 weeks till payday and ebaying has begun again! And so it goes on.......May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!
March 2019 - CC gone and bye bye M2 on 31st! £140k to go.:j0 -

Well done on your good deed for the day :T
I found a wallet/noted clip once - about £200 if I remember correctly. I handed it into the police and after a few months they called to say it hadn't been claimed so I could come and collect the money. I gave a third to charity, a third to my ISA and the other third I spent on clothes - I was a student at the time!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Wow MRN - your halo shines brightly!! People at work were surprised that I took the guys wallet round and didn't take to police - but which one would you take it to? Anyway - having lost my purse before and finding it - I know what the relief is like.
Lottery day. To bother with a ticket or not? Hmmm
Nothing else to report. Not spent anything other than my gym fee this week. Its cheaper to pay as I go at the gym I think but as I'm making myself go twice a week - I need to check that again. Not that I enjoy it - waistline dictates - and with a imminent requirement to squeeze into my posh frock coming up - I must continue! :AMay 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!

It paid off in the end!downsizer3 wrote: »People at work were surprised that I took the guys wallet round and didn't take to police - but which one would you take it to?
I guess you did put yourself under a little bit of risk by going to a stranger's house (and don't say you knew their name, date of birth and address making them not a stranger!). But in the grand scheme of things you saved the police time and money on a more trivial matter.downsizer3 wrote: »Lottery day. To bother with a ticket or not? Hmmm
Not. Waste of money.downsizer3 wrote: »Not spent anything other than my gym fee this week. Its cheaper to pay as I go at the gym I think but as I'm making myself go twice a week - I need to check that again.
Absolutley recalculate based on your current visits. I'm less than a month into a 12 month membership and already I can see it's going to be cheaper (see signature).MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Ooh - off to check that straight away then!!May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!

Ah. Still cheaper to pay as I go because DD only sees her dad twice a week - so I can only go twice a week to the gym! It would pay to join fully if I went 3 times but that won't happen!

Hey ho.
Which ever way is cheaper... that's what counts!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -
Was working out the cost of packed lunches v school lunches - a saving for sure. DD seems to eat them better too so happy to stick with that.
Bought snowboots (cheaper before it gets cold) on ebay - don't buy much in the way of second hand shoes for DD but wellies etc are ok in my book. Have quite a lot of people watching my strange array of stuff on ebay so hoping to make a few quid this weekend - if I can cover the snowboots and a pair of (arctic level) slippers for me - all the better.
Getting really cold here so heating is coming on in the mornings - and its set at 16 deg  So much for my 'no heating till Oct' rule.
If I won the lottery (yeh yeh) I'd get double glazing put in - but I'll have to make do with shutters till then. Pesky scottish weather and big windows combo....May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!

No lottery wins or windfalls to note over the weekend sadly. Just plodding on.
My folks were over and asking when I'm doing the extension - um..........never? I recon it'd cost £70k and in theory that would bring my mortgage up to £100k - a managable amount on what I used to earn - but I like have a sub £30k mortgage and can't see my career ever being that stable again. So. Two bedrooms it is unless something dramatic changes!
Made £40 on ebay to see me through till next month.
Lots on next month as two of DDs 'activities' need the next term paid so I'll not have much beyond the usual to spend. And a couple of nights out in there too - so - usual tight budget. Ho hum.
Keep telling myself that next month will be easier - never is.
I will have paid off all tax credit OP by Dec though - and that will be a huge change. More into savings so no difference to daily budget but at least I can watch my svaings grow!May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!
