Its signature update day as I've paid off more of these pesky debts. Only £300 left on my card - :j Two months to go!!
The payback to tax credits is a longer slog but I'll feel better when I get it below £1500 - a more manageable figure!!
3 months till I get that mortgage to start with a 2 instead of a 3 - another milestone looms! :money:
Quality of life hasn't suffered really although its a struggle some months and my clothes are looking tatty. Childcare is still the most painful outlay at just below £800 pm - I could cut that down massively but its still the right thing to do just now and DD is well looked after whilst I slog away at work ( she says coming on MSE at work).

No big changes - insurance have paid out for chimney so we'll have that done and dusted soon thank goodness.
I've been horrified by food / supermarket costs recently. I don't know if I'm just spending too much or its still going up - either way I need to reign it in. Just as well I'm on a post holiday diet.......;)May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!

Next month it'll be a year since I moved in. Been OPing since the start and card nearly paid off so thats the removal costs etc all gone. Not bad eh? :A
Looking at high interest accounts for savings when they start in June - not sure whats best but I would rather use instant access until I get to about £2000 then the other £4000 into a 30 day account or something. I don't like not having anthing I can get my hands on quickly just in case.
My daughters savings account is rubbish in terms of interest so I'm going to sort that too. Time to get these savings back to where they were before I hooked up with disaster-man!!
Is that a light I see at the end of the tunnel?...........May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!

My run of bad luck continues - I got burgled at the weekend. They didn't make a mess - just grabbed the telly and laptop really - a bit of a root about but I'm just glad I wasn't in and that they didn't trash the place.
More expense coming in terms of Fort Knox-type measures coming. Jeeze.

Once upon a time I thought that having a £100k mortgage was nothing to worry about and was happy enough moving up the property ladder with increasing mortgages.
These days my life seems much less certain. Mid 40s and my business has scratched its way through the past 4 years - just. We're here as long as we can manage to do that or one of us has had enough and tomorrow we're having that annual meeting where we discuss all that and whether we carry on. Urgh. I want to carry on - I need another year to pay off this tax credit OP and get my savings up to where they should be. So - fingers crossed no-one throws in the towel.
If I can make it as far as 2016 I'll have no mortgage and then I can think about where I go from here work-wise ( I realise that I don't really want to be doing this in 10 years time). So thats my date to hold on to but its one year at a time.
Changed days. Where did the security go eh?May 2018 - £159k + £3.5K CC - let the countdown begin!
