You didn't need to make any phone calls to sort it out, it was a simple error that would bounce back automatically and the banks took no action you said, but I can see it would be normal to phone the bank once to ask about this issue.

Stuff happens, some time causing very minor inconvenience.

Normally when things are charged multiple times on-liine it is due to user error with page refreshes etc..

I did need to make some phone calls, firstly how was i to know it would bounce back in, and secondly, i need to know when it will bounce back in accordingly.
I would love to be one of the people who could manage with losing £300 and not have to rebudget or move money into different accounts etc.

Also, I am in the process of buying a house, so really need my money in my account when it is meant to be!

If the DWP didn't pay someone their benefits for 48 hours, they would not be happy and would be within their rights to complain, therefore a government sponsored company has taken my money for 48 hours, i have a right to complain.

Lazer I was going to comment on the last post by Kurtis_blue, but could not be bothered to argue with him/her.

I know what you are saying, and this is to do with the ethics of the TV Licensing Dept taking money and you having to spend time and money resolving, I do feel from previous dealings with them guys that they wont actualy do a lot about it as I said they seem to think that they are indeed above the Law.

Whos arguing? the OP came on a public forum asking:

    "Anyone got any suggestions?
Is it worth complaining to the TV licencing company?"

My statement was clear no it is not worth complaining as you have had no loss except maybe one or two 20p phone calls, why waste even more time on a non issue?

There are lots of ifs or buts being stated but in this case there is no issue, don't want suggestions and answers then don't ask questions from randoms who have the time to waste on the interwebs...
  • Hope you got your money back by now, lazer. And good luck with the new house :)
