I'm now disabled under the definition provided by the Equality Act - However it will apparently be some months yet before I can apply for a blue badge.

Ahh yes, same problem we have. (See my reply in post #2)

That question wasn't directed at you however, but this situation is why I asked "are you disabled" not "do you have a blue badge".

Well this is a lively debate. Blue badges or not, public or private, disabled spaces should be left for disabled people, even at 3am LeeUK - just park in a normal one!
So photographing the car won't work - what you need to do is see people get out of the car, and if none of them have a disability, then take the photo of them and their car!
(I won't be doing that though!)

But lots of disabilities are not visible! see the example given in #12

Wow. Congratulations. That is the stupidest post I've ever read on MSE. Well done, it took some doing.

Google will find you others including an old one from Huddersfield (as I recall) that associated Blue Badge abuse with criminality !

Several local authorities (including Kirklees who cover Huddersfield) are starting to pursue 'Blue Badge Fraud' so expect to see some people in court for abusing the blue badge system very soon.

Which has nothing whatsoever to do with people not using blue badges in private car parks.

Haha, thanks chewynut! That post was tongue in cheek! !!!!!!, yes I'm aware that not all disabilities are apparent just from briefly looking at someone.
As I said in my post, you won't catch me going round photographing people in parking spaces, the OP seems to be the vigilante here. I'm sure anyone with a genuine disability (regardless of badges), in a car park that has problems with space theft, might be a bit miffed at being approached, but would see that OP is trying to stop non-disabled people park in disabled spaces. What's wrong with that?!

    Grow up chap.

    Look there are 2 issues here;

    Number 1

Can folks with ailments or disabilities park in disabled places?

    Not too difficult is it.
Take the case of an 18 year old that's broke his leg at football. Is he going to apply for a "badge"?
Of course he's not, but is he disabled for a certain length of time?
The answer is yes, deny him a parking place? not me.

Fit folks parking in disabled bays??

    Excuses?
Well there was no one there when I parked,

It was the only space left empty,

    I'm in a hurry,

    I don't give a flying Fffff

I do see the latter examples as an "issue" but can we just give a little leeway for those that do actually have problems?????????
    :A:A:A
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
