Thames water soakaway rebate question

Options
Hi,

I recently wrote to Thames Water (via Veolia) and successfully claimed a rebate for the fact that my surface water drains into soakaways (wish I had known about it before!).

I was not expecting a windfall but I was a bit disappointed by the paltry £21 a year discount. Has anyone else had experience of such a rebate with Thames Water? How much did you get?

The amount seems arbitrary - does anyone know if there is any guidance or rules determining how much the water companies have to pay as a discount?

Thanks James

I don't think it is arbitary, for both Metered and unmetered properties their website states:
Where a household customer is not connected to our sewer for the purpose of discharging surface water, then a reduction of £21 can be claimed.

Different companies have different charges - but all charges have to be approved by the Regulator OFWAT
