Also companies have discounts for dual fuel and direct debit etc, so you would have to calcualte this aswell
Unfortunatley you are in the minority in not being able to get an annual kwh figure, but in normal cirucmstances this would be the easiest way.
I guess I'll stick with N-power. Not do the £40 thing and just pay and pay and pay and pay...........:p0 -
Not sure if this will work, sign up to the online Npower account.
From that you can get your previous bills in pdf format.
It will list price paid per KW and estimated or customer reading!
Its the only way i could get my usage and still took some doing.
You may be on a standard tariff, i was until this evening and the Winter package would have worked out cheaper, dig deeper assume 22% hike i will be better off over present by changing to Online 23 retaining £100 pa discount as an existing customer.
Until you can get a usage i wouldnt do anything, but make sure you do something in the next 4 weeks.
True these companies should give a price rated in KW, the compare sites are only as good as the info put in to them, often wrong and misleading.0 -

If, like me, you have changed suppliers, changed from paying monthly by DD to having quarterly bills, changed from paper bills to on-line, it's a pretty major job to estimate your annual kwh actually.
You have gone from being "open" in your OP to being very easily discouraged (though a past switcher) so not sure what is going on.
However in answer to your specific question (how to compare without accurate annual consumption) enter "average" figures of 16,500 gas and 3,300 electricity. Then compare the % difference.0 -
Get out your last four quarterly bills from whichever supplier. Add the units (Kwh) together. Hey presto. :T
It sounds like you want lots of help and advice, but basically can't be bothered to do a bit of work yourself. In the absence of the above, estimate your consumption as either high, medium or low. Google what the figures are for each scenario. Stick the numbers in a Comparison Website and hey presto again. :T
Or pay more than you need to.0 -
Or call Npower and ask them what you last 12 months consumption has been in kwh, they have to give you that info, also make sure you are aware of currrent npower tariff, if you are not when calling for consumption ask what tariff you pay to them too.0
