Hi
I'm sure it's really simple, but then so am I when it comes to computers
I have a film on my PC's hard drive and I want to copy it onto a disc. When I go through the steps to burn the disc, all is OK until I go to select the file - then it's not there. When I open the folder with all the files in - it's empty. However, if i go through My Docs, my videos, select folder, select file - then they are all shown there and I can play the film on my PC.
How do I get the film to copy? I have Windows XP with anything that may come with but also have Nero (with no instructions
)
Thanks

What format is the video your trying to burn to dvd?0

Im not sure which software your using to add the file to the disk but I expect that you need to change the type of file that it is asking for at the bottom of the open screen I expect that it is set to filter anything it doesnt consider a video file the file you have stored on your drive possibly isnt one of the suported files.
Nero yu dont need an manual have a look at it and you should be able to work it out.
What is it your trying to do?
Create a video cd that can be played in a stand alone player?
Create a video DVD again that can be played in a normal dvd player
Just back up the video file so you can delete it from your pc or transfer it to another pc?
each proces requires you to do it a different way0 -
It says they are a VOB file - never heard of those0

Thanks Little John
I have copied a dvd onto my pc - I want to make a copy so my kids can watch it in a stand-alone dvd player/PS2 and I know they won't be knackering my copy (as small boys are wont to do) I copied it onto the harddrive - using what ever steps I was asked to do - (using Clonedvd). Now I just want to burn it back onto a disc. I don't mind whether it stays on the HD or not.
btw I have DVD-R, DVD+R and DVD+RW's available0 -
Rip the movie to your hard drive in .iso mode using DVD Shrink then burn using imgburn using dvd-r @ x4 speed, if you want anymore info drop me a PM and I'll be happy to talk you through it0

if its in VOBs, Nero will take care of you. make sure you put all the VOBS, BUPS in the VIDEO folder as the AUDIO should be completely empty.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -
You'll get a better quality burn though if you rip in .iso mode and use imgburn at a low speed0

It should be easy enough but the offers there if you need it0 -
A VOB file is a dvd ready file.
Open Nero
Select DVD
Go Nero Express
Select DVD
You should now see 2 folders, 1 Audio_TS and 1 Video_TS, the Video_TS should be red.
Put all the VOB files into the VIDEO-TS Folder, do not worry that the audio folder is empty.
Select Burn (my writer is a 8x but i select 4 x to ensure no bad burns).
You should now have a DVD you can watch on a stand alone0
