why do people insist on asking questions, its an admin job, they want you to shut up and do your job. i never asked any questions and 7 years later im still here/there.

I guess I thought it's the done thing. When I got the call to go for interview, the lady asked me on the phone if there was anything I wanted to ask!

Not in my company they don't. It's a very involved, hands-on job; I'm not some robot who just sits at their desk carrying out instructions. In fact, I've worked in an admin role all my working life and it's always been that way for me. Good Luck OP, hope you're successful. Just found a new job myself and am currently working my notice.
  • Thanks for your input chipmunk, and good luck in your new job.
  • Just had the call. Good application, but taken on someone who's already doing this sort of job, blah blah blah.

Because answering questions is easy. Asking good ones isn't.
If they are stuck between two people the most enthusiastic may win.

However your post is irrelevant to the topic, perhaps if you wish to cite your opinion you could start a thread title "Should you ask questions at an interview?" ;)

How many other interviews have you had?

I was made redundant in March. I've lost count of the number of applications & interviews I've had. So fed up right now.
