I have a job interview tomorrow for an office admin job. Now I really want this job, but am struggling to come up with any questions to ask at the end. I doubt there's any training offered or career progression, but that's fine. What could I ask so I stand out from the crowd and sound interested in the company? It's at a nursing home, not a multinational company! Any advice gratefully received!

Ask a bit more about the home in general? How many residents? Are they privately or state funded? How many employees are there?
The job: how many people will I be working with? Who will I report to? Will I have regular formal meetings with them? Performance reviews?Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
I find a good question to ask is
'What do you enjoy working about the company?'
Shows you are keen and also gives you an insight into a little bit more than you might have done0 -
Find something in the job advert that you'd like to understand better.
For example, if they've described it as a 'fast paced and challenging environment' ask them what they expect you to find challenging about it.
ie. Something to demonstrate that you've actually read and thought about the role.0 -
And to build on Sue's advice you can then respond to their reply giving an example where you've successfully handled similar situations or improved them etc.0

I ask this question, usually as it gives people a chance to talk about themselves and gives you an insight into what's kept them in the organisation and what it might be like for you.I find a good question to ask is

Look at the job description with great detail and think what do you want to know?
It's difficult to think of questions because you don't know what they will ask you or if they will answer your questions during the interview.
Why is the role available?
What is the staff turnover like?0 -
The thing I always find hardest about asking questions at the end of the interview is that I am only asking them for the sake of it. I have only ever been looking for work when I am out of work, and so I don't really see the point of asking questions as I know I will take the job whatever they say. Although I do agree it is always best to ask questions to show enthusiasm for the role.0

If you can't think of a sensible question just say "I think you've covered everything, thank you". I did that last time and got the job so asking questions isn't always necessary.0

1 - what are the qualities that you are looking for in this role? [any that you haven't covered, cover them when they answer]
2 - is there anything else that you would like to know about me?
3 - that's great, I'm really interested in the role, it's just what I've been looking for. What are the next steps? If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
How did you get on OP?0
