temporary expanding foam for window gap

Just noticed one of my windows has a 1/2 cm gap between the window top and the frame.

Is there a product like a temporary latex expanding foam available in the UK to squirt in and seal for the winter?

Yes....do a search for expanding foam. I've used it before, it's less than a fiver a can.

What you want and what you need might be different.

5mm is nothing or shouldn't be and in any event the windows should be fitted better than that. If you want temporary - rolled up newspaper in between window and brickwork to just inside the outside face then flexible frame sealant to cover the gap. Simples.

    Cheers

Its between the part that opens and closes and the frame, its fine by the bricks

So you need to get the opener adjusted so it fits properly rather than faff about gap filling. Timber or UPVC?

UPVC , but they are at least 12 years old , and I think its just natural for their age, plus its only one of them, so a bit of squirty for the icy months, 2 min job, would have suited me fine
